Williams Honored by Boston College

John Williams was honored with the President’s Medal for Excellence on September 29 in a ceremony that took place at Boston College’s 25th annual Pops on the Heights gala.

Williams has been a friend of Boston College—including several guest appearances as conductor at Pops on the Heights—and a supporter of education and students for many years.

Keith Lockhart conducted the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra in a program that included an homage to Williams, with selections from Superman, Empire of the Sun, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and Star Wars.
