Quite possibly the STRANGEST thing I have ever seen in my life...

:P
Thats not something I'll forget any time soon.
Do you like John Williams? His early work was a little too jazzy for my taste, but when Jaws came out in '75 I really think he came into his own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and an air of consummate professionalism that really gives the pieces a big boost. He's been compared to Jerry Goldsmith but I think John has a far more leitmotif-driven style of composing. In '82 John composed this, E.T., his most accomplished album to date. I think his undisputed masterpiece is "The Magic of Halloween", a theme so catchy most people don't listen to what it means. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of childhood and the importance of friendship, it's also a personal statement about the man himself. Hey Paul!

It was definitely the geekiest thing I've ever seen. All the geeks sat orchestra level with their lightsabres and costumes. My love for Star Wars doesn't extend nearly that far, but the show itself was absolutely hysterical!

I think it might be better next time to mute the original sound. I can hear Escape from Naboo poking through a couple of times.

I realise that. I ripped the audio channels, and I tried to mute all the un-needed audio and leave as much of the sounds as I could. I'd thought about going back and just replacing the pod noises ... It's hard to replace the music... it's really meant for demonstrative purposes only. To show what migh have been.

I also had this odd problem when I ripped the audio from episode I, it all came out really slow...so I had to speed it up. You can see at the end it's just a hair off beat from the film.

I may re-do it...

This is how you do it!!!
Pretty neat.

I am more interested in creating fresh, spontaneous, singing melodic lines than in the factory-made tonal patterns of industrial civilization or the splotches and spots of sound hurled at random on a canvas of imaginary silence. I am bored with mechanically constructed music and I am also bored with the mechanical revolution against such music. I have found no joy in either and have found freedom only within the sublime disciplines of the East.

That's some scary kind of conducting. He seems to be having a fit rather than keeping the orchestra in time.

That makes me wonder: is there an actual technique to conducting? And I mean that: what exactly do you learn when you study conducting?

There is no set technique. Whatever you can do to communicate tempo, rythm, sound/loudness.
