Seriously though, when we get to the stage where they are releasing 90s scores every 2 weeks... Houston, we have a problem...

I'll predict my wallet is probably safe for another 5 years or so.

Is there any scores in-particular you're waiting for Rich?

But generally the 90s is just where most of my collection starts really, and I'd be much more confident about blind-buying than I am with older scores.

Well there are a few... Dante's Peak, Breakdown. I'd hug any label that reissued them.

Yeah I know what you mean with that one.
Has Dante's Peak ever had a legit release?

Dante's Peak only had an OST release, never a legit release for a complete score. Supposedly there's a complete isolated score on the DVD Region 1 movie but so far all that people have been able to find is to what's on the OST'.
So what you're saying, is that the ISO Score rumours are a load of BS?

And I think the popular footwear item going around wouldn't be missing a key cue if there was a complete iso, so yes, I'd say those claims are BS.
Although tons of game review sites all list the following easter eggs for the DVD, but I think it's typical lack of knowledge of what a score actually is, plus there's no feature called 'creating a volcano' featurette on any version of the DVD I've found.
Soundtrack
Select the "Getting Close To The Show" feature. Choose "Audio" and press Up to select "Audio 6".
Musical Score Soundtrack
Start the "Creating A Volcano" feature and press Audio Change to hear the theme written by James Newton Howard's theme and score by John Frizzell.
But there are so many more scores from around that period which I'd probably buy just from samples.

Someone over at Intrada claimed that there are two isolated scores on the R1 DVD (one with the OST, 30 mins, the other with the full score), but the thread died at the point of me asking the guy for pointers to where the second one was. Honestly, I could barely concentrate at work once I read that - just wanted to get home and look at my DVD

Hmmm pity. It will come one day, hopefully soon.

Thursday, July 23, 2009 - (...) Legendary director Joe Dante (Gremlins 1 & 2, Innerspace, Explorers, The Howling) makes his return to the genre he knows best with the 3D thriller The Hole. Three kids come face to face with their darkest fears after they unlock a bottomless hole in the basement that makes their nightmares come to life. Join Dante-along with actress Haley Bennett (The Haunting of Molly Hartley) - as he discusses his return to thrillers, working in 3D, and The Hole
Of course, a lot of guys on the FSM boards are still predicting an expanded Star Trek score, Back to the Future, Goonies, Batman, Innerspace, etc as well...

And there was a UK film called The Hole in 2001 that sounds pretty much the same as that.

Like a native UK film? Or are you thinking of Holes with Shia LaBeouf?
A film made in the UK, by UK people.

Indeed
I can't see FSM being able to afford the re-use fees of four different relatively new scores to make it an unlimited release, though.
I'd still wager money on Gremlins
Besides, I'm pretty sure La La Land is working on Batman
Yes I would go with Gremlins, the 25th Anniversary this year with a new DVD / Blu-Ray coming out in Sept too. FSM also have a good relationship with Warners (which would help with future Inner Space & The Goonies releases! So here's hoping!)

A "Black Box"? How about a "Dark Box"?

How much music from the '89 Batman are we really missing on the OST? Not counting the Prince songs.
There's quite a bit. In fact some cues on the OST are edited...example "First Confrontation", "Batman To The Rescue" and "Attack Of The Batwing". If Batman ever got a complete release I would buy it in a heart beat.

ETAndElliot4Ever, as much as I want B89 complete, I think you may be right. I'd love both, though, and I think LaLaLand is interested in releasing all of the Elfman and Goldenthal scores complete--I know Forever has been thrown around.
I believe there's some unused music, but here's what I've got, working largely from ChrisCrusherComix's edit. Be aware that I haven't seen the film in a while, so I'm not 100% sure on what was meant to segue where, but I think this is mostly right.
01. The Batman Theme (2:38)
02. A Robbery in Gotham*/Roof Fight (3:24)
03. Jack and Eckhardt* (1:32)
04. Grissom's Lair* (0:14)
05. The Setup* (1:41)
06. Bruce Wayne, Millionaire and Spy* (1:17)
07. Axis Chemicals* (0:35)
08. First Confrontation** (5:19)
09. Leaving the Dinner Room* (0:17)
10. Kitchen (1:09)
11. Surgery (1:20)
12. Face-Off**/The Wayne Budoir*/The Joker* (3:56)
13. Roasted Dude (1:01)
14. Flowers (1:50)
15. Clown Attack** (1:57)
16. Photos (Beautiful Dreamer)/A Whole New Door* (2:55)
17. Nightly News Bumper* (0:09)
18. Sinister Commercial* (1:20)
19. Cosmetics Scare* (0:06)
20. Going to Make Art* (0:21)
21. The Flugelheim Museum*/Gas* (1:58)
22. I'm Melting!* (1:07)
23. Batman to the Rescue** (4:24)
24. Descent Into Mystery (1:32)
25. The Bat Cave (2:34)
26. Poison Code Cracked* (0:12)
27. The Joker's Poem (0:58)
28. Secret of the Alley* (0:35)
29. Childhood Remembered/Love Theme/Charge of the Batmobile (5:55)
30. Attack of the Batwing** (6:21)
31. Up the Cathedral (5:06)
32. Waltz to the Death (3:56)
33. In the Pale Moonlight* (1:13)
34. The Final Confrontation (3:49)
35. Finale/The Batman Theme (reprise) (3:10)
*Previously Unreleased
**Includes Previously Unreleased Music
Total score time: 76:17
Bonus tracks would probably include "The Batman Theme (film mix)," "Roof Fight (alternate)," "Beautiful Dreamer" (I believe the recording that plays on the Joker's boom box at the apartment was recorded for the film).
This is kind of inconsistent, as "Nightly News Bumper" and "Sinister Commercial" could technically be considered bonus tracks, but I think they work well, and "Cosmetics Scare" comes out of "Sinister Commercial nicely.
