I think it's a fair battle.

The Raiders March as a whole is my favorite theme of all time by John Williams, but if I had to choose I'd go with the 1941 end coda. There's just something so nice about that theme played so softly like that.

Which one is your favorite?

I like the 1941 coda a little better, but the Raiders one is by no means bad.

My favorite Williams coda is still The Witches of Eastwick though.

The 1941 coda feels more integral to the whole piece to me. the one in Raiders feels tagged on.

Excellent point about the 1941 coda.

I can't complain about the coda in the Raiders March, but it would fit BEST at the end of The Last Crusade credits, I love how the Prague recording placed it there.

Agreed.

I only like the Raiders one when it's on the end of the overture, ala the DCC.
Repeat the JWFan pledge after me: 'I hereby recognise John Towner Williams' place in the world as the great composer there has ever been, and I therefore renounce the works of Rozsa, Korngold, Herrmann, Horner, Kamen, Giacchino (unless the prophecy is fulfilled and he becomes the heir to JTW) and Goldsmith, especially Goldsmith. I understand that if I ever refer to Jurassic Park as anything less than "a masterpiece sixty-five million years in the making" I will be resigned to living out my days at the Zimmershrine.'

More like a prelude. If you want an overture feeling, then the Concord and the original Polydor release use it correct, because of using potpourri. So the best way is to listen to the original Polydor release, where the overture is on the first place. On the Concord release it is on the end - like an epilogue.

Raiders hands down... 1941 doesn't really depart from itself when it ends. Raiders is like, "Oh by the way, here's a little extra brilliance just in case you didn't like the theme enough.... Just revel in the awesomeness."
-So much of what we do is ephemeral and quickly forgotten, even by ourselves, so it's gratifying to have something you have done linger in people's memories.

If we're talking about the Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull End Credits coda, then definitely the Raiders March. That is one of the very few brilliant things to come out of that score.

If not, it's a draw (that should be an option by the way!)

For me, it's Raiders, either way. There's no question at all.
