  1. I cannot spend Christmastime without watching my favorite holiday film! And large part is due to the great Williams score!
  2. Star Wars/Close Encounters of the third kind The Adventures of Tintin/War Horse
  3. TOD>ROTLA>LC>>>>>>>KOTCS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>DOD
  4. Love the Douglas Sirk melodramas, and this is my favorite! Great colors and cinematography all around!
  5. A couple of timeless themes, and you have one of the better Horner soundtracks. I may be in the minority, but I simply LOVE the song too!
  6. Fortunately, for True Lies there is a 35mm print scan "out there". It's darker than usual, but I'll prefer it over the botched 4k!
  7. Well, I particularly don't throw it for whatever... I rarely use it.
  8. unfortunately True Lies is even worse! https://slow.pics/c/ADsTMAbS
  9. https://slow.pics/c/ALrcIesc Here's many comparisons between blu-ray and 4k digital. Unfortunately, there is DNR. I will keep my blu-ray it seems.
  10. A pleasant surprise! Although I don't usually listen to such kind of music, I enjoyed this.
  11. You know... I wonder if we resemble the audience of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring, that cannot understand the new, and we're in the presence of a masterpiece, or if the score resembles the emperor's new clothes. (you all know the story, right?)
  12. Not my cup of tea. It may do wonders in the film, but I cannot listen to this as a standalone release.
  13. I liked the first part with the Santa Claus origins story, but not the 2nd part. I LOVE Hook! I cannot understand why people don't like it.
  14. Didn't they announce their final batch for the year?
  15. I would hope everyone is entitled to his opinion here, without being bullied.
  16. So, I listened to the isolated score, but didn't change my mind about it. I found nothing to make me want to listen to it again (or the ost - although I bought that to have it in my collection), apart from Helena's theme, which anyway doesn't fit the character at all, but it's a nice composition on its own.
  17. It's funny that scores for video games have such a high level and film scores don't! Any "religious" score for a video game I should know about?
