  1. I second that. I'd have voted AotC had I actually bought it.
  2. I never warmed much to Ice Age 2 (I'm one of the few around here who prefers Newman's original), but I'll give it a chance.
  3. He's Joey in disguise. And I don't take statements like that seriously around here any more.
  4. The reason I posted ESB is that I found it for £5 in Virgin a few years ago, and whenever I put it on, I just lost interested within a few tracks. I respect the OT for the work at it is, but it's just not for me, and that's why it's one of the lesser purchases I've made. *cough*
  5. You can be a fan and not find Star Wars interesting. But you wouldn't know that Mark.
  6. I fully expect to be burned alive for this one, but I've expressed many times my total disinterest in anything SW-OT related.
  7. Good? Heck yeah. Best music on the album? No. BTW, the Main Titles are a 45-second edit of Enterprising Young Men. (I've 'obtained' the exact edit used - you know what to do).
  8. I thought it was a "does it still fly?" reference with a scottish twist...
  9. Oh, OK, so no big surprise. Pretty much as most of us expected, I guess. I've taken a second listen to this, and particularly if I'm in the mood, it's actually not that bad. Zimmer haters won't find a lot, but I think the rest of us might eventually find something to enjoy in this. Particularly the last few minutes of Science and Religion - heavenly. And now that I'm listening in a quieter environment, Immolation sounds like a cross between "Watch the World Burn" and "Am I Not Merciful", two tracks I really like, and Election by Adoration is actually a quite nice platform for 2 themes from Da Vinci. I think I'm starting to like this score after all. I've heard Batman scores from both composers, and Goldenthal's clicked instantly, Elfman's didn't.
  10. I don't care how it surfaces, but I want that addtional music! That cue list is a shock actually, I didn't expect there to be as much missing as that.
  11. I should just go into stasis for 5 years. But if any of these are someone's grail, then good for you
  12. Good question. One I think all Zimmer haters should answer.
  13. I only have two Bernstein scores - To Kill a Mockingbird and Wild Wild West so I'm not very keyed up on him.
  14. Only JWFan. I do occasionally pop in at james-newton-howard.com/forum/ but there's so little activity there and all anyone seems to do is praise his music to death. The Horner Shrine sounds like a place to avoid. Is it full of Horner fanboys?
  15. I'm hoping more composers will come over here for concerts or signings in the future. Living in the UK sucks for meeting composers.
  16. Mine's pathetic in comparison; I currently have 87 CDs. But I have a high 'quality control' process so it's at a manageable size, and if you named a score, I could easily say whether I own it.
  17. The next person to post that f****g poster..... So who's the other Horner admirer? We need to stick together in this crowd.
  18. Go back into bed Stefan, and get out the other side...
  19. I prefer Horner. No question. When he isn't pissing me off with the danger motif, metal clangs or a variation on the Braveheart theme, he can come up with some stunningly beautiful music, and I much prefer his more classically based 'meandering' underscore to Goldsmith's.
  20. It's always annoying isn't it when there's only maybe 10-15 mins not on the CD. Even more annoying when there was room for it anyway... Especially if it's only a small film that no one's heard of, it's unlikely that music would ever see the light of day.
  21. That's one of those scores I never listened to and considered deleting, but every time I revisit it, it surprises me. I don't know what it is, but I like that score.
  22. Currently listening to my 40 minute selection from some ID4 music that's err... not on the CD. This just answered the ID4 vs Cutthroat Poll for me - ID4 wins easily - brilliant stuff that puts MV to absolute shame IMO. Also been listening to Star Trek, and I absolutely love it. All 3 themes are driving my brain mad. Just the aforementioned sucky mix that spoils it a bit, but I hope more music surfaces at some point.
  23. Well a problem in post would cause the US release to be delayed as well wouldn't it.
