  1. Not HD, but the best I could find directly from CBS is here: http://download.cbsnews.com/media/2015/12/13/585321539580/60_OT_1213_dotcom_StarWarsJJAbrams_475721_796.mp4
  2. It's hard to tell due to the low resolution, but the best I can make out is "Opening | Starry Night".
  3. I thought it was a pretty good interview. We got confirmation that Williams has already started work on BFG as well.
  4. Looks like the page was updated again with a more specific program: I'll be attending the concert, so I'm crossing my fingers that this is accurate and JW will be there.
  5. I'm debating whether I still want to fly to Boston and pay the associated costs (time off work, hotel room, etc.) after this news. I wish they'd announce the program in advance, that would make the decision a lot easier.
  6. I haven't seen this posted yet: JOHN WILLIAMS: MAESTRO OF THE MOVIES (CLASSICAL SPECIAL) Friday, January 30, 8pm Saturday, January 31, 8pm John Williams, conductor; Johannes Moser, cello Renowned composer John Williams returns to San Diego for two very special performances his extraordinary music from film. Mr. Williams and Mr. Moser will be donating their services in support of keeping classical music thriving in San Diego! http://www.sandiegosymphony.org/concertcalendar/jacobsmasterworks.aspx

  8. Sorry, but I was at the Portland concert as well and I think you're mistaken. The arrangement of the Cowboys Overture performed was the exact same that JW has been performing in concert for years, and the same one on the By Request album.
  9. Yep, what he said in Portland is just the same E.T. concert anecdote he's been using for a while now.
  10. Funny enough, that article cuts off the original review right before it says "For the most part, Williams’ score is great." http://www.blogarithms.com/index.php/archives/2013/10/04/thebookthief/
  11. It only shows up on European websites right now as far as I can find (https://www.google.com/#q=0888837970723), but in Europe at least it has a release date of November 11.
  12. Are you sure that's a 0? Personally, I can't quite make it out. Exciting, though! He seems to really enjoy writing for piano lately. It's more legible in the original image: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BUOASR0CMAApXeG.jpg:orig
  13. Are you saying Williams was in the audience for the Ozawa Hall performance?
  14. I'd speculate that Williams gave the wrong date during the interview. If I had to guess, I'd say this commemorative ceremony on June 30th with the United States Military Academy Orchestra performing and Doris Kearns Goodwin giving the keynote would be the most likely candidate: http://www.nps.gov/gett/planyourvisit/150th-anniversary-events-2013.htm.
  15. I just checked out the Prime version, looks like that scene is intact.
  16. It does start abruptly, doesn't it? Sounds like it's still probably the beginning. Would've been nice to have the intro, but oh well. (I did check the ends of the other clips for it, but no dice.) I see somebody already made a clip of the fanfare. Good for them, because for the life of me I couldn't get the clip thing to work. However, it looks like it cuts off the first couple seconds. But then when I preview it for MP3 download, it was fine. So I went through with the whole download process. A little tedious—iTunes it ain't. But once I got the MP3, I found out it does cut off those first few seconds. I see I could contact them about it. Seems like a lot of trouble for 2 seconds. Funny enough, I emailed them last year when this thread was first posted to ask if they could upload the fanfare, and the response I got was basically "we've uploaded everything we have, search harder".And that's my clip you found, unfortunately I couldn't find any way to start a clip right at 0:00.
  17. It wasn't. C-SPAN must have uploaded additional footage from the convention within the past year or so.
  18. I was just about to post the same thing!! Now only if it would stop buffering and I could actually listen to it!
  19. You need an option for none of the above (at least for the second question).
  20. Here's the reasoning that one genius academy member used when voting : http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/race/oscar-voters-brutally-honest-ballot-422546
