  1. I've never read HBP, but somehow it felt like a poor adaptation. It had to have been. It was pretty sucky.
  2. Way too much money. Any idea whether it will be objective or basically a Lucas ass-kissing fest? Seeing as so much of the score was rejected, you would assume that would be addressed. Also some coverage of Mark Hamill's shattered face, plastic surgery and whether that whole ice monster scene where Luke's face is mauled was written in as a result.
  3. What's "The Final Battle", the Last Battle from Star Wars? Caught my eye because it was the only thing in the program that wasn't the same old shit. Edit: Just listened to it and yeah it is. Still nice to hear something different at least.
  4. Got French Connection for 11-something bucks at Best Buy. I know about the visual alterations (which I'm always opposed to just FYI), but I caved.
  5. The prequels should just never have been made. The mystery of the thing was so great. I feel like an old fart talking like this, but, compared to what I had growing up, it'll suck for future generations that are introduced to Star Wars via Episode I. When I was younger, there was such MYSTERY to the whole thing. I love how Yoda is on this uninhabited swamp world in the middle of nowhere training the Jedi, as opposed to being in charge of some building in the middle of a city planet ripped off from Blade Runner. The Jedi are a bunch of stupid assholes now. IF there were to be some kind of telling of the backstory aside from what is established from the dialogue, Return of the Jedi should have been done Godfather Part II style, 3+ hours and all. True, it would have been a totally different type of movie than the first two, but what the hell. It already is anyway. ROTJ is more like a weird 80's Jim Henson production with the Star Wars characters. A Godfather II style film showing the rise and fall of Anakin in flashbacks along with the story of Luke, Vader & co. could have been truly amazing.
  6. It's not funny to me. Some jokes can be, of course. On the occasions where friends have made me watch it, I find myself staring at the screen like the "what" emoticon.
  7. Jaws the original album, the prequels, Jurassic Park, Home Alone 2 and CE3K original album. That wonderful Boston Pops version of "My Friend, the Brachiosaurus" featured at the end of my JP playlist has me listening to Williams on Williams now.
  8. I'd like to see those. Whatever happened to the actual content in the filmography section this site used to have?
  9. I want the the Connery ones. Can't wait for Apollo 13 next week.
  10. I'm expecting another highly disagreeable, mediocre, forgettable non-JW HP score, but I'd like to be pleasantly surprised.
  11. It's arguably the most important JW score we need in its entirety, officially.
  12. I'm one of the few I'm sure, but after re-watching Sabrina, I'd love the complete score. There's actually a lot of music missing from the CD, but I should have known that.
  13. Part of the charm and appeal of the Millennium Falcon is how it's always falling apart. Like Han and Chewie are trying to keep the thing together while fending off Imperial ships and navigating asteroids/giant monsters. The hyperdrive will never God damn work until the last second, or they have to come up with some crazy way out of a situation. The ship was cool because it was Han Solo's, and everything he touched inherited his awesomeness. By the way, when they tried a similar motif as a running gag in Star Trek V it just made the Enterprise A even less appealing.
  14. In this alternate quantum reality you live in, do the humans eat with elongated prehensile tongues?
  15. I'm still a proponent of the electric guitar in Chase Through Coruscant. Just FYI.
