  1. Man, its hard to read through these threads and the IQ 200 level of sarcasm here. my humble thought, can't wait!, great for Silvestri! he's been out for long time and needs a major comeback. Couldn't be any better.
  2. Hi Guys, Apologies about the very late reply. Thank you all for your comments, I definitly appriciate them very much. Strings are hollywood strings from eastwest. Thank you all again I really appriciate it. Sherief
  3. Hi Guys, I didn't know if I should post this in the Review section or offtopic or even post it at all, But I worked up the courge to ask you guys if everyone would like to review a musical tone poem piece I spent so much time on but I know will not see a live performance in its time but I want to do everything I can to get it out their even if its a poor piece of work. Its a piece in orchestral form that explores the idea of when we go through a period in our lives of depression, desperation and suffering and all one asks in the mids of it is a moment in heaven. How desperate can one be if given a moment to mentaly and spirtuatlly be in heaven out of a reality of suffering? If this violates the rules of the forum then please delete it but I thought I Should give it a try anyway. Thank you all for your time.
  4. All John williams needs to do is figuire out all the themes that needs to be created. Lucas and JJ if they are smart and looking forward on their investment, will need to give john williams an idea of whats going on within the three films and what needs to be created. I'm sure it won't take williams a week or two. The rest is orchestrations. Even if maestro williams doesn't make it to the secound and third film, it doesn't matter, he just needs a trust worthy orchestrators to apply the thematic material in accordance to the director's wish (don davis? Giacchino? pope?powell?) Starwars is already musically mature with so many brilliant themes. which means that that they can use the first six film's(+IIV) work and mold it to the newer films if it comes down to that. I'm just happy that it's williams who's developing the thematic work. Its making me look forward to the new film even if its full of jar jar binks...
  5. You know I would say that too but then kathleen kennedy is involved here and she produced almost all Spielberg's films...but to also be fair, she prodcued for many directors like shyamalan and zemekis who would not be a bad choice at all!...you get alan silvestri in that mix as well.
  6. So I want to speculate the actual next director...John williams was asked recently what he was working on (after lincolin) and he said that he and steven spielberg have a project in the works...what do you guys think? do you see spielberg taking on a new trilogy of starwars? after all, he did direct the very fight scene between ankin skywalker and obi one in revenge of the sith and wasn't bad at all.
  7. I actually was very moved by william's score the most. The alexander desplate new score sounds pretty good and with energy but non of the theamitic material moved me. I always change my mind when I watch the film it was made for though but over all, I feel his best is still harry potter.
  8. A question About John williams him self. Does he have private students that he teaches? has he sponsered composers before (not just film)? I've always been curios about it and so far there is no info out there that shows him doing that...Hope to be wrong though.
  9. Here is my own Micky mousing for fun. 480p is recommended. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEeZtjQYJBM
  10. I think Everyone knows by now that the Oscars only award whats popular and appealing to the "new generation". They are in the end a company like any other picture company, run by ratings, you can't really hate them for that and its fair in my opinion. I Truly think that the real Oscar that should be given to John williams, is as many people finding william's latest work to be awesome and far superior to whats out there. Now that is a true reward. People, not a piece of Gold.
  11. Truly a master. What a control on harmony he has. To me this is worthy of an oscar just for the harmonic progression.
  12. The way it opened was very beautiful. Obviously The maestro is channeling Vaughn williams string technique(Also Horner's favorite technique to use in scapes) but using his own harmony which feels like a new piece written by a master that belongs with these giants. The war music is promising as well! I'm so blown away by the maestro's latest work. We are so lucky to still have him with us and give us this excitement. I really haven't been blown away this instantly for a good while, not by even the latest hyped composers. The maestro just set a very high bar. I guess i'm venting out after listening and realizing how much i missed Good Film music that stands brilliantly on its own. I don't know what we will all do after john williams.
  13. The Hands are large and unnatural in movement and they don't blink alot which is why their eyes are funny. such an obvious thing to see. Probably the Cartoony look decision?Either way I look forward to the Score and the Film.
  14. No He is an upcoming famous Conductor and a really Good one. Maestro Williams probably brought him in to show him how it feels to conduct a score to picture. a very lucky dude for sure!
