I'll probably go for Karate Kid III but thats it. Hopefully there are those out there that will be happy for most of these.

When you listen to music, do you listen to CDs?
Darth Porkins replied to Jurassic Shark's topic in General Discussion
Almost always CDs/vinyl at home. Mp3 player at the gym or while traveling. -
While I prefer the score to TFA, I much prefer KOTCS as a movie.

Very excited about this release. War of the Worlds is probably the last JW/Spielberg collaboration that Iisten to somewhat regularly. -
The LLL Hook is perfect for me. I love it just the way it is. An expanded Patriot would be fantastic! Its a great score.

Star Wars A New Hope 2-LP Walt Disney Records

I'll indulge ya with my experience of rediscovering the pleasure of vinyl. One day I went over to my friends house cause he just bought a turntable to use at his DJ gigs. He was quite excited about it. This was around 2002/2003. He had it connected to his home theater in a box (remember those) set up which was probably around $300 total (receiver and 6 speakers). He played a recording from the 80's that I myself was quite familiar with but only on CD and as the song went on my jaw continued to drop. I heard bass on it for the first time. A warmness. Why did this vinyl record played on a cheap stereo blow away my stereo set up in which I had invested thousands of dollars on? I was hooked and thankfully at the time I could go to used record shops and buy these albums again on vinyl (for like $5) and over the next decade or so I amassed quite the collection plus I still had my records from when I was a kid. Like my beloved Empire soundtrack. One of my favorite things to do was to have friends come over and I would play them "Processional" from the Sound of Music. First on CD and when that organ kicks they would be very impressed and ask what kind of sub do I have? I'd laugh...then, I would pull out the vinyl that I inherited from my parents and proceed to play the same track at the same volume and they would freak out! One day my friend who came over brought his 7(?) year old son with him just so I could do the same for him. I'll never forget the words that this kid screamed, "make it stop, I'm scared!" I'll take a few snaps and crackles here and there to be able to experience music in a full and robust sound. Unfortunately todays pressed vinyl has the same brickwalled mastering as it's CD equivalent at $29.99 so there's no reason to buy a lot of new records today. -
ROTJ is fantastic but I believe the reason it is now often not talked about as much is due to both the original soundtrack and the ‘97 expansion. The original ‘83 album was so short compared to SW and TESB and a lot of fan favorite cues were missing. After the Arista box set came out and fixed that with the cues we wanted like “Dark aside Beckons”, Darth Vader’s Death”, etc I’d say it became a lot of ours favorite. Then the Special Edition in ‘97 came out and unfortunately a lot of the cues were merged together and created extremely long tracks that at least for me, caused the listening experience to degrade. Especially in the early part of the score as well as a few tracks towards the end. Like I said, fantastic score though. Just a long listening experience.

How much of your film score CD collection was bought used?
Darth Porkins replied to Bayesian's topic in General Discussion
Probably around 35% -
It was a couple of years ago but I wanna say 250lbs for 4 reps.

Usually don't listen to scores while working out but one time I did hit a personal record on a bench press using "The Death of Rexor" from Conan. Specifically from :37 to about 1:10

Not sure but you just reminded me of this video I watched a few days ago.

Just want to take a second here and say to everyone that while yes, hearing this new material is exciting and listening for new themes is fun, lets not forget that this is the last time we will ever hear new Star Wars music from our beloved Mr. Williams. Savor it, take time to sit back and relax and really digest it. Soon it'll be like saying goodbye to an old friend and our Star Wars musical memories for the past 42 years will be all that's left.

The Infamous Phantom Menace Ultimate Edition
Darth Porkins replied to Jar Jar's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
I was very grateful for this release and I still am. What a treat to get some great music left off the OST such as "Anakin Wins." I never really understood the complaints about the presentation. Most of us do our own edits anyways. Thanks to all the complaining, we never got AOTC or ROTS and it still makes me sad that I have to rely on the bootlegs to hear some of John's greatest Star Wars music. My only complaint is that it doesn't sound as good as the OST. -
