I was not talking about the appeatence of the Imperial March after ESB is legitimate or not, I was only giving an example where the Imperial March does not represent vader but rather the Empire.
The Imperial Marhc is mostly Darth Vader's theme, but when, for example, the Emperor Arrives at the Death Star in ROTJ, we hear a fully devoloped statement of the Imperial March, ad I think that in this particular scene, the theme relates to the Empire and its might rather than the character of Darth Vader. I don't think it's by accident that the theme is named Imperial March (Darth Vader's theme). It can be related to both concepts and ideas.
The first and last tracks are clear examples of what Ross' colaboration may have produced: arrangements of already fully composed and developed melodies by John Williams in the last score. It was stated before : Williams will produce every new thematic material.
I alo think the 1st and last track were also adapted by Ross. Did anyone hear any statement of Voldemort's theme?I heard the philosopher's stone motif, but I have no idea what's it doing in there.
I pretty much agree with everything Roald said, except I really enjoy listening to MR outside the movie. But except that minor detail, I fully agree with you.
Some people seem they really like to bash. The score is good, they assume right away is not Williams' merit, when all signs point out that it is, indeed, mostly Williams' merit.
I would bet every new theme we have heard is composed by Williams. I suspect the portions in the cd that are composed by Ross are, for example, the first and last tracks, where pratically no new melodies were devoloped but rather existing themes were arranjed and mixed in a somewhat diferent manner than in the last score(in the last trakc really not that diferent). I'm pretty sure Ross colaboration revolves around examples such as these.
BTW, I'm pretty sure track 3 is also a concert suite. I was reported before there was a new theme for the bad guys and I suspect this is it. Anyone agree?
About recurring themes from the 1st movie, I can clearly hear hedwig's theme, harry's theme, harry's wondrous world, diagon alley (the version that never showed up in the movie), hogwart's theme, the sorceror's stone theme (I don't knwo what is this doing in here, unless it refers to Voldemort). I didn't hear any statement of Voldemort's theme
