  1. Well, the best moment in a movie might define its celing, but still, its weakest moments can really bring the whole thing down. Spielberg did quite well with most of the Kensington scenes in Hook. But those are not enough to compensate for some of the really awful scenes in Neverland.
  2. I greatly enjoy some parts of it. I cringe with others. I like the movie. I don't love it, I don't loathe it. it's a bit like the score. Parts of it are sublime. Others I really don't appreciate. But I think those sections have more to do with Cameron's questionable musical sensabilities and taste, and less to Horner's talents. The real achievement is how Horner was able to write what he did within the constraints of Cameron's quesitonable demands
  3. I still think Titanic is not as good as some of its fans make it out to be, but neither it is as bad as some naysayers claim. It's absolutely riveting once the ship hits the iceberg. If there's one thing Cameron is absolute master of, is pacing. And that's apparent even in his movies I don't really enjoy, like Avatar
  4. I love all the Barry songs, except Man With the Golden Gun and All Time High. I also love You Know My Name. The last 4 songs, though, are all amongst my least favorite Bond songs
  5. Visually it looks fantastic, but there is some really corny dialogue in there. Hopefully, the trailer editing made it sound worse than it will in context
  6. We really need more Goldenthal expansions. I would absolutely love to see expanded releases for Interview with the Vampire, Sphere, Final Fantasy. And the planned OST for Batman & Robin is such a great assembly and distillation of the score, I'd be more than satisfied if that is all they released from that score
  7. I love this score and I find the OST one of the best Horner presentations. I wonder f the expansion is revelatory in any way
  8. I still haven't heard this score, but this remains one of my favorite musical depictions of the man:
  9. The great Piper Laurie has passed away https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/piper-laurie-dead-twin-peaks-hustler-carrie-1235618677/
  10. As much as I find this particular motif very cheesy, I can't help feeling pumped whenever I listen to it. It just tickles that pop-ish part of my brain:
  11. Ditto. And I never watched an Harry Potter movie not scored by JW. And he such an amazing voice. I wonder if he ever narrated any audiobooks
  12. I adore the Original Trilogy, I kinda have a soft spot for prequels, despite their ineptitude. I enjoyed TFA up until Han Solo shows up (the movie takes an absolute nose dive at that point), I like most of TLJ quite a bit. And that's it. Everything else I either dislike or totally ignore But it's always been mostly about JW's music and the movies were simply the backdrop that justified its existence. There's no point to any of it without JW's involvement.
  13. I deeply regret not getting that while it was still available. That and Thimbleweed Park, that although not written by the LucasArts trinity, had great music a particularly good album presentation
  14. I adore this score, but the OST does a score a great disservice. I know your stance on expanded scores, but the expanded edition, albeit the omission of Eno's Propechy Theme, is absolutely the one to listen to. Just compare this version of the Main Title on the OST: With the one in expanded edition: I hope an expansion is coming soon, with all the music and remastered sound.
  15. Batman Forever might no be the quintessential Batman score, due to the nature of the movie it was written for, but I still find it to be the best music ever written for Batman
  16. This is the piece you're referring to, and it is indeed by Greenwood: Great score. Incredible film. probably my favorite PTA after There Will Be Blood
  17. Elliot Goldenthal would have been my dream choice for this project
  18. Delayed to March 15, 2024 https://variety.com/2023/film/news/dune-2-delayed-2024-strikes-1235703991/
  19. Not only does Cooper look like Lenny (specially when older), but he also seems to capture his voice quite well. I'm definitely intrigued by this
  20. Except for Oppenheimer, which I haven't seen yet, my personal ranking would be exactly the same
  21. As far as I know, it would Actors can't even talk about projects done decades ago if by any chance they do some talk show appearance
