  1. And to quote a dwarf in An Unexpected Journey EE about the use of Ed Sheeran's song in the end -That is not a song, that is an abomination! I thought it was atrocious and completely out of place.
  2. I would like Hisaishi to get nominated for The Wind Rises.
  3. If no complete recordings, then we can always hope that Doug Adams writes a book and releases a CD with missing music with that I guess (has he said anything about that?).
  4. The first truly negative review? http://nypost.com/2013/12/11/tolkiens-dragon-is-draggin-in-new-hobbit/ 1.5/4 stars. - 38/100 on Metascore. "There are probably enough moments to satisfy hard-core fans, but for the rest of us, this amounts to a “Star Wars: Episode II — The Revenge of the Sith’’ for the 21st century, a space-holding, empty-headed epic filled with characters and places (digital and otherwise) that are hard to keep straight, much less care about." Episode II - Revenge of the Sith?! LOL!
  5. Did you hear Smaug on percussion as heard in 'The Hunters'? I wanna know if i'm deaf or not
  6. We get to see large amount of shadows floating around in the air when he "confronts" or when Gandalf steps into "him". He then uses his staff to create a protective light shield (reminds me of the dementor shield spell, Expecto Patronum seen in Harry Potter), which prevent the shadows to get closer to him. It looked very exhausting for Gandalf, and he could barely keep the shadows away. Then after Gandalf has kept the shadows away from him and used his spell for a while, we get to see an enguled fiery figure in the shadows, and you can see that the figure has the shape of Sauron. Then Gandalf says "Sauron" after it cuts back to him, then Gandalf gets "pushed up" against the wall by the shadowy power - then it cuts to the mountain, and Bilbo & co. Maybe Bilbo can elaborate on this, I find it quite hard to explain. The eye is seen briefly when he shows himself as an fiery figure as Sauron. No, it is no howering eye ball. We get to see the necromancer first in the movie when he speaks with Azog (I can't remember what he said), but this is when Azog sends away Bolg, and a group of orcs to find the dwarfes in Lake-town. When the necromancer speaks to Azog, all we see is a large shadow on the wall of the ruins of Dol Guldur.
  7. Did you hear the percussion variation of Smaug's theme? Heard in 'The Hunters'? I could not, but I heard the "build-up" to it (1.01 -1.10, right before it starts). I'm curious if I missed it or if it wasn't in the film.
  8. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug! A better, darker and more serious film than the first! Smaug is simply stunning, 10/10 to Smaug's design and all the Smaug stuff. It is just amazing!
  9. As Bloodboal said, it is out here Tuesday 00.00 as a pre-screening even, but that is too late for me so I took the earliest screening the day after which is the official release date
  10. A full review with spoilers -> http://middleearthnews.com/2013/12/07/a-full-review-of-the-hobbit-the-desolation-of-smaug-spoiler-alert/ 4/5 stars from The Guardian -> http://www.theguardian.com/film/2013/dec/08/the-hobbit-the-desolation-of-smaug-review 5/10 from Indiewire -> http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/review-peter-jacksons-the-hobbit-the-desolation-of-smaug-starring-martin-freeman-ian-mckellen-more-20131206 The film has a 72/100 Metascore on ImDB now with 5 reviews.
  11. Empire gave the film a 5/5 rating - http://www.empireonline.com/reviews/reviewcomplete.asp?FID=137814
  12. The film has a 8,9 score on IMdb currently with 4310 votes I think the final score will be a bit above 8.0. Maybe 8.2.
  13. You have to check the "Enable HTML" box on the right when editing your post, then insert the <iframe> code (that you get when you select "Embed this video" in Google Docs) in your post. Hm, I only get a normal link in Google Docs, not a iframe code. How do I get that code that I need to insert after I have enabled html? I have only embeded YouTube clips before so this is new for me.
