  1. I cannot wait to listen to that Overture. I have a feeling we'll have plenty of music here to enjoy for years to come.
  2. It was a selection of scenes while he conducted the Jedi Steps and Finale. He clearly had a crush on Rey! Confirmed by the maestro himself. He will not allow anyone else to write music for her (his own words).
  3. I agree, except for the Empire Strikes Back Finale, as I've already stated a few posts back, it was a dissapointment for me, at least. But as a whole, it sounds great. I discovered material that I had never heard before, and was greatly surprised, for example, at the level of detail in The Emperor. It makes me wonder why Williams scored that noisy scene in such a delicate and detailed fashion.
  4. I wonder how it really looks. I still think is a deserving treatment for such an iconic score, but I cannot help but being afraid that all these multiple releases on various formats will make a complete release of the seven scores far more difficult, at least in the near future.
  5. He probably rehearsed the piece including the first reading, and then he called Dudamel to join along.
  6. Surely she was with the fleet. It seems the Rebel fleet was always at some point of space, despite the location of the temporary base.
  7. Such a wasted opportunity! I still haven't seen the featurette, but what you say sounds more or less exactly what BloodBoal predicted a few pages ago. My blu ray should be here on monday. I hope!
  8. I agree. Well constructed and more meaningful lyrics would make this musical far more enjoyable. I still never judge a musical until I've seen the full play, but the poor writing of this one is evident from just listening the numbers on the recording.
  9. I'm really glad he got the chance to give us a second Ackbar performance. Rest in peace, good gentleman.
  10. I honestly enjoy Man of Love, Improbable as Spring and So many other Worlds. I still enjoy a few listens to Look Around You and A New Way to Turn too, especially for their harmony, simple and beautiful. Thinking on it, I could say I enjoy quite a bit from this work (I even sing Man of Love while walking through the street). It's a guilty pleasure.
  11. I agree, but I'm also sure that Williams is accostumed to work with those really good orchestras you have in the US in a rather short rehearsal schedule, pretty much as he does when recording a film score. He always knows very well what he wants and is able to comunicate it effectively. The pieces should be ready for performance in a single rehearsal, I believe.
  12. A great chance to own this score! I could never afford those second hand market prices.

Johnny should have this translated to sanskrit and write it for male choir. An authentic Star Wars choral fanfare.
  14. I wonder if this was the big announcement Peter Mayhew was talking about.
  15. Using flashsideways, for sure it is! But any kind of temporal distortion would be new in the Star Wars narrative.
  16. Flashsideways, to be sure! Rey's vision opens a new storytelling gadget in Star Wars that I'm sure will be exploited in subsequent films. They'll try to be innovative.
  17. I'm sure these movies will begin to have more flashes than we can imagine.
  18. It's an older rule, Dev, but it checks out. Nice catch. Keep up your keen eye on music scores, and welcome to the forum!
