Shame on anyone who bullies another user to the degree they think they are “killing JWfan”. This is a place where we should be joined by our love for the music of JW.

I see nothing wrong with posting cover art in an anticipation thread when there’s really not anything else to say before the CDs are out.

C’mon people, we’re better than this.

Scarpia reacted to Holko in Remasters of the First 6 Star Wars Soundtracks now available (Shawn Murphy / Disney Records 2018)
Who would have enough money to buy that? Standalone releases for each score coming periodically would be much more lucrative and there would be more time to focus on making each one the best they can possibly be. If so, I say the order should be 4-5-6-1-2-3-7-8-9, starting with the most popular/acclaimed one with the least amount of unreleased music that is also in the best state sound quality-wise in the releases we have now, then building anticipation towards the prequels which have a lot of wanted and never properly released score, and finishing off with the sequels which will still be fresh in people's minds. They could start in 2020 after IX, and depending on Matessino's availability and work time, it could be 1-3 scores per year (the new transfers and probably all element scouting are already done). See Disney Music? Hire me now and you'll be popular!

I will purchase all six, then subsequently burn them in a bonfire as a symbol of my frustration against Disney for not bothering to release the complete scores anytime soon.

Maybe it's an indication that Rey will create a whole new order, neither light nor dark: The Grey Side Of The Force, with its practitioners called the Jith, or the Sedi.

The success of Rogue One has led Lucasfilm to fast-track it's sequel, which has the working title of A New Hope and continues the story pretty much where Rogue One left off.

Plot details are being kept under wraps but inside sources speculate that it will deal with Princess Leia Organa's attempts to take the stolen Death Star plans to her father on Alderaan.
Rumor also has it a young actor named Mark Hamill has been cast to play the protagonist (possibly a brother to Jynn Orso from Rogue One, continuing the presence of the Orso family in this franchise). Also Harrison Ford will play a Cassian like ships captain and we will see more of the character Darth Vader if this leaked still is any indication.

No official news at all yet regarding the score. But rumours suggest that due to his commitment to future Marvel films Michael Giacchino will not be able to score A New Hope. Apparently John Williams has been hired to step in, creating a new score building on some of Giacchino's themes from Rogue One.

Do you guys see what's happening here? This forum is torn apart because of this score, and this is exactly what Giacchino wants. Don't give him the satisfaction!

Yeah, I think it was only used in "action" mode in Confrontation On Eadu.

And in the movie Baze has lost his faith in the Force/Whills stuff (until the end), so I think we can also call it Chirrut´s theme.

It´s funny like now, the less used theme is the Hope one, and it was used at the title of the movie in the infamous rendition that it is hated for almost everybody.

I can agree with that. Though let's not forget that this is a situation where a composer got replaced for unclear reasons, and it probably went like this:

    Yes, he does quote it.

Not being familiar with Giachinno's output at all (except, perhaps, Up?), I tried to like the score. I think it has some decently crafted moments that work on the film, and an overall Star Wars bag of resources, but my impression is this was done in a rush, and overusing many devices. The most noticeable being the brass triplets, that in the movie are mixed very loud and bombastic each time, which got me tired very quick.

Emotional scenes, with the exception of one in particular, sounded far too simple to be believable in a Star Wars context, with basic harmonies and little melodic and orchestration value. Chirrut Imwe's theme sounded too much like the begining of Across the Stars not to be bothered by it. I can remember even a similar orchestration for the first time it appears.

Still is not so bad, and works, so I think I'll get accostumed to it in the future.
