Scarpia reacted to Gruesome Son of a Bitch in The Force Awakens Disney Records OST
Perhaps we're no better off with Disney than we were with Sony. They're doing the same shit. Falsely advertising the OST as the complete score, pointless embossed covers, alternate covers and Cracker Jack prizes.

Scarpia reacted to Not Mr. Big in Official Star Wars Profile Launches on Spotify
Spotify wouldn't be the worst place to premiere a track. Certainly better than in a TV Spot or ringtone.

I agree. Certainly going to be one of those things we're going to have to keep our eyes on.

J.J. will finish what Lucas started.

Scarpia reacted to #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal in Notable musical moments in the Star Wars saga disrupted by the film
I would imagine being a theatre actor would help.
Some actors really don't need much in the way of direction and can depend on their own talent, charisma or bag of tricks. Liam Neeson for example was quite decent as Qui-Gonn. Simply because of Liam Neeson, not because of anything provided by the script or direction.

Scarpia got a reaction from crumbs in The Force Awakens Disney Records OST
Considering the amount of ice we have seen in the spots, it will probably be a re-recording of The Battle of Hoth.

It's not a typo LeBlanc was referring to.
People were talking about the Target release of the OST, and you mentioned the "target audience", that's all.
So we weren't mocking your writing, which is perfectly fine.

Scarpia reacted to DarthDementous in New Star Tours Force Awakens Scene - new Williams music?
Here's a video with much better sound quality. I'm convinced it's definitely John Williams because I don't often hear that sort of quick motif flourish that he's known for in his action music, especially in imitators as they normally go after their own Williams-sounding themes.

Scarpia got a reaction from Ricard in The Force Awakens Disney Records OST
I think concert arrangements were recorded when John Boyega and Daisy Ridley were invited to the recording session. Based on Boyega's claiming that he has his own theme, at least.
It's also more logical to invite the actors to a scoring session with "clearer" music, intended to be listened, than the usually complex or more abstract incidental music.

Scarpia got a reaction from Bespin in Force Awakens ABC TV Spot - CONFIRMED premiere of Williams' score!
The first portion of the TV spot is pure Williams to me (with the exception of the synth bass bit). When I listened carefully with my headphones and could appreciate the orchestration subtleties, not only the string triplets, but the harp apreggios and the gradual horn pedal on the first part (a fine detail present in any good traditional orchestration, and obviously ever present in Williams' classically crafted works, which always consider the acoustics of the orchestra in live performance) I was convinced.
I'm sure this will appear in the album as the exposition of a character's theme, surely a concert version.

Scarpia reacted to Tom in The Force Awakens prediction game
There are good guys, bad guys, explosions, more explosions, a mystical energy field that binds all living things together, more explosions, unnecessary robot banter, more explosions, and a transcendent score that makes the whole thing feel awesome versus trite and stupid.

Scarpia reacted to Unofficial But True in Force Awakens ABC TV Spot - CONFIRMED premiere of Williams' score!
haha ! but you know that it can't be
Trailer's music composers don't know what a flute is, and they have no musical knowledge...so, if it's not Williams, it can only be extract from a music library...but, excepted the "trailerish" bass drum, it sounds like the maestro
