I have a re-recording of Escape From Venice in my collection. But it's basically identical to the film version. Not a special concert edition.

Does Last Crusade actually have a true concert suite at all? I got the impression they're all film cues (or intended as, at least). That's weird for Williams...

Agreed. It's really all over the place. I do miss the March...

I assumed the de-aging is a large part of it. Other than that, why would an Indy movie need so much CGI?

It's an edit. Not a real written concert suite.

I do know. Most of the theme appearances are close to their suite counterparts. The antagonist themes don't make much of an impact. And Mutt's theme is too flimsy and happy-go-lucky. KotCS lacks something with the inspired gravitas of the Grail Theme.

I've recently been developing more of an appreciation for the Call of the Crystal B-theme. To me it sounds like the longing of the aliens to finally go home after all those centuries.

Whatever did this film need to be so expensive for in the first place? Raiders was famously made on quite a tight budget. And that worked wonders.

Maybe Williams figured it wasn't on the LC OST and this was a nice way of making it heard? I can imagine he forgot it was on the bonus CD of the box set...

I was just listening to Last Crusade last night and I had almost forgotten how good it is. No mickey mousing for a change, but well-developed long themes. And that Grail theme really fills the picture with its own special atmosphere.

I was actually going to ask if any fan-made suites might be made. A Force Theme suite is quite notably absent. And I like the "Russians" from KotCS that a member here did.

This is the best I still have. I do believe I originally got them from this forum somewhere. Was it something that the great @heidl did? The Emperor's Tomb is one I tried myself; so it's somewhat lower quality... And Staff of Kings didn't quite want to cooperate either.

Could someone make one in this style? I really like those originals.

I listened to my personal edit of OST+FYC. It didn't work. Though you're right the FYC contains the coolest bit in the score. Falcon Flight is so nice!

I feel like John Williams is affected more by the quality of the film than, say, Jerry Goldsmith. On TRoS, and KotCS too, I have the impression the movies coloured the score in unfortunate ways.

Please tell me other highlights. I would love to love it more. Probably doesn't help that I am thoroughly disappointed by the movie too. TLJ had me genuinely curious what'd come next. TRoS wasn't it.

The most obvious are the remaining Harry Potter films.

The new concert suite is indeed warm and inviting. But then that and Anthem of Evil barely get any air time on the released music. To the point that I'm left wondering what's the use of writing new themes if you aren't going use them anyway. The finale consisting of inappropriately used OT music doesn't help either.
