I fear the same. Which is a crying shame. Indy 5 was FAR better than I feared. And I'm one helluva Indy fan! Dawn of the Jedi sounds intriguing too! First I heard of Damon Lindelof and J.D. Dillard. The second I never heard of at all; the first wrote Star Trek Into Darkness, of which the shittyness is only eclipsed by JJ's TRoS. Both truly horrid mutilations of what should've been awe-inspiring stories. Pretty sure Rogue Squadron is dead in the water, after WW48's failure. Which I think is really nasty, since there was such a public announcement teaser video about it released to YouTube. I was actually quite curious about this one! I'm also still hoping against hope to see more of Rian Johnson back in Star Wars. The Last Jedi actually was so intriguing that I got curious about what might happen next. (Not Palpatine's return. THAT was absolutely the LEAST interesting thing that could've happened. I just pretend it didn't happen and just imagine my own continuation instead.) -
ID4 is indeed a good comparison. That one similarly has barely a dull moment throughout its entire runtime. I can understand it being a bit much... But you can always listen in parts. And when it's all SUCH QUALITY...? Both do have some lovely quieter material. "Discovery of the Treasure" is gorgeous!

The Most Williams like Score by Another Composer?

Then... I find that one more engaging than Skull or Dial. Fun variations on the March in there too! -
In all my searching, I've never found anything quite like it. Sure, it's inspired on the swashbucklers of old. But HOLY MOLY, does it run with that theme! Main Title, Carriage Chase, complete Battle and End Credits alone are SUCH stunners! And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Pretty much! It does everything exactly right. Love how it doesn't even feature the choir at all. It really doesn't need it.

Well, I'd say part of the point was that Holdo's leadership style also wasn't particularly fitting. Both were at fault. Not just Poe. But I do like the idea of Poe being a hothead pilot. It kind-of comes with the territory. And gives him something for character growth. That indeed irks me more than anything. (Other than Palps' return. But that one, I just pretend never happened.) All I'm saying is it WAS thought about in advance. They might've done a poor job explaining it in the film. Either due to bad writing, or simply because there's only so much you can fit into two hours. But it's not something they just ignored on purpose.

I like Rey fine enough. The background novels even explain some things on why she's so good at things at the start. In a novel written even before TFA was released. So it's not like it's retconning anything. Shame she was turned into a Palps though. I tend to just ignore TRoS in my opinions. That one is... NOT good!

Alien and Terminator had strong female characters, I thought. CutThroat Island even flipped the gender dynamics all the way, even if it unfortunately wasn't well received. And I'm watching Stargate SG-1 again lately, where I'd say the relation between the male and female protagonists is perfectly okay. They even toned it down from the very first episode, where they originally really pointed it out.

I always wondered if the physical release REALLY looked like that. Only explanation I can think of is that they deliberately made it resemble a submarine sonar image. But even that, I find hard to believe...

Deleted scenes. Cut for pacing. Confirmed by Mangold that there used to be one additional room of puzzle-solving before reaching the Tomb.
