  1. It's been decades since I watched Jane Eyre (on VHS no less) so I don't remember much about the music in film, but I can't imagine there is too much missing from the OST. I'm considering the same approach TBH, purely for economic reasons. If this release hangs around for a while I may pick it up, but there are other priorities for me right now (such as MacArthur).
  2. Why would you say that? Intrada has expanded quite a few of the MCA Williams OSTs. Don't forgot about the Dial of Destiny iso.
  3. I tend to follow a simplistic approach with my film scores on digital: Title (Album) Title (Expanded) Title (Complete) Title (New Recording) Title (Bootleg) Title (Album - Remaster) etc. For multi-film sets, such are Quartet's new Heidi/Jane Eyre, I split them into separate albums with unique artwork. For genre metadata, I use "film music", "television music", or "game music".
  4. I do wish someone like Mike would rescue Jane Eyre (the film) from whatever domain it is in. I have a dodgy DVD bought from Amazon some time back and the picture and sound are truly awful 😞
  5. @Raiders of the SoundtrArk Bernard Herrmann - The Man Who Knew Too Much / On Dangerous Ground (new recording RSNO - Stromberg)
  6. This release and the fact that I have to wait quite some time before mine arrives have made me want to revisit the film again. I have fond memories as it was the very first LaserDisc I ever acquired and the first Dolby Surround track I got to listen to on my new shiny Dolby Pro-Logic set up. I recall the thrill of hearing a pirates chorus of "Good morning Mr. Smee!" echoing around my room from five speakers. The Ultimate War (and it's score) sounded incredible! Such happy times.
  7. In order of purchase: Silva Screen re-issue (2 copies) Silva Screen original issue (thanks Chris CrusherComix) Bootleg La-La Land Quartet
  8. That Reivers recording is terrific. This and the Jane Eyre recording were the first pieces of music I ever heard from these two scores, from an old Readers Digest LP set a friend's sister had.
  9. It will be my fifth Jane Eyre purchase and my third Heidi purchase, and I'm not complaining
  10. There is only one Barry. But this is still great Horner.
  11. FULFILLED!!!!! Oh shit Quartet what are you doing to me?? I literally want every single title you just announced!! Bye money.
  12. Happily I have just heard that Intrada has shipped my order, so they did receive some stock of the first batch. Now the long wait begins.
  13. That's how I feel about the could-have-been UEs for Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.
  14. This is not true. I distinctly remember MV saying how it was selling like hotcakes for the first few weeks and then it was literally cricket city for months thereafter. Unless you mean the first pressing only?
  15. Have a look at videohelp.com in the tools section, there are tons of freeware apps that can do this (and many other things to boot).
  16. Those were the days. I miss them. Back then it was such a niche thing to have one's favourite films on an obscure disc format called LaserDisc. Letterbox and Dolby Surround were king. Special features were awesome. TVs were bulky and back-breakingly heavy. Dave's Video had those fantastic studio days. The world was a simpler place. Happy times.
  17. Wonder if there is any possibility of a Williams expansion from Quartet.
  18. I liked Rey as a character so I am hopeful that this will turn out ok, but I'm concerned Disney won't put story front and centre and will insist on shoehorning in the usual preachy elements.
  19. The doc is an hour long. I have it on my Abyss laserdisc sets (PAL and NTSC) as well as DVD.
  20. I ordered from Intrada and it's now showing temporarily out of stock, so I guess I will only get this well into the 1st quarter of 2024. I wonder whether Intrada actually received any stock from LLL.
  21. Under Pressure is the title of the doc and it's fantastic.
  22. Are the micro edits on this more of less jarring than the ones on say the Pod Race cues on the Phantom Menace UE?
  23. I'm afraid I won't be able to hold out until January when my set is expected to arrive. I'll have listened to Maurizio's interview with yourself, Mike and Tim long before I get to listen to the actual music.
