It's been decades since I watched Jane Eyre (on VHS no less) so I don't remember much about the music in film, but I can't imagine there is too much missing from the OST. I'm considering the same approach TBH, purely for economic reasons. If this release hangs around for a while I may pick it up, but there are other priorities for me right now (such as MacArthur).

Mike Matessino: "At least 5" new Williams releases due this year
1977 replied to Jay's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
Why would you say that? Intrada has expanded quite a few of the MCA Williams OSTs. Don't forgot about the Dial of Destiny iso. -
I tend to follow a simplistic approach with my film scores on digital: Title (Album) Title (Expanded) Title (Complete) Title (New Recording) Title (Bootleg) Title (Album - Remaster) etc. For multi-film sets, such are Quartet's new Heidi/Jane Eyre, I split them into separate albums with unique artwork. For genre metadata, I use "film music", "television music", or "game music".

This release and the fact that I have to wait quite some time before mine arrives have made me want to revisit the film again. I have fond memories as it was the very first LaserDisc I ever acquired and the first Dolby Surround track I got to listen to on my new shiny Dolby Pro-Logic set up. I recall the thrill of hearing a pirates chorus of "Good morning Mr. Smee!" echoing around my room from five speakers. The Ultimate War (and it's score) sounded incredible! Such happy times.

Extracting Music From Film Channels

Have a look at videohelp.com in the tools section, there are tons of freeware apps that can do this (and many other things to boot). -
Those were the days. I miss them. Back then it was such a niche thing to have one's favourite films on an obscure disc format called LaserDisc. Letterbox and Dolby Surround were king. Special features were awesome. TVs were bulky and back-breakingly heavy. Dave's Video had those fantastic studio days. The world was a simpler place. Happy times.

Wonder if there is any possibility of a Williams expansion from Quartet. -
The doc is an hour long. I have it on my Abyss laserdisc sets (PAL and NTSC) as well as DVD.

Under Pressure is the title of the doc and it's fantastic.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny - Isolated Score Track
1977 replied to DangerMotif's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
Are the micro edits on this more of less jarring than the ones on say the Pod Race cues on the Phantom Menace UE?
