  1. No one has heard a single note of Desplat's Potter music and it's already not good...
  2. I tried doing ROTS a couple of years ago, I just suck at editing, I kept hearing these clicks and stuff. I'll just have to wait for the official release.
  3. We don't represent the 100% of fans, I've come across UE type edits for The Empire Strikes Back, so obviously some crazy fans out there like the UE concept.
  4. I have to agree with Merkel, if you manage to not think about what's missing, it's a very good listen and I've always enjoyed for what it is. I got so used to "The Sith Spacecraft and Droid Battle" that I was a bit dissapointed when I realised they're two different cues, I thought that track worked really well. Also "The Droid Invasion" is like a small suite of the Trade Federation" theme. I'm not saying it's not missing great stuff thoug.
  5. Could you summarize that comment for us (me)? Basically Kendall said that Lucasfilm holds the SW and Indy tapes for the highest bidder, which makes them less profitable and that we shouldn't expect anything soon. And I think he even said we should be very happy we have the OT complete and Indy expanded. He really made it sound like it's extremely unlikely we'll get those again.
  6. Hell, if this were true, and the Family Plot rumor (much more likely) and the Hook rumor (as unlikely as the prequels I think) were true, I could be done with John Williams this year!
  7. Bullets Over Broadway was the first Allen film I saw, and I love it.
  8. People who go to the concert will probably be satisfied with the existing OST, which I believe are all still in print. And anyway, they play fairly standard pieces at the concert, probably nothing unreleased. I just don't think they're doing them now. Like I said, in 5 or so years it will happen.
  9. I don't think they would, a boxset is the more likely scenario I think. The only reasons I could see: -An apology for the UE, so that's very unlikely. -TPM is the more popular of the prequel scores (debatable, even though I do think it's the best one). -They're releasing all three, but only rumors of TPM have got out. -They're releasing all three, but not at once and they're starting (logically) with TPM. I don't think it's happening though.
  10. IMO Matchpoint was a lesser version of Crimes and Misdemeanors.
  11. That's my point, if we're going to blame him for what's wrong with that set that is fine, but then he should also be "blamed" for what he did right.
  12. I'm on the opposite side, I love his "vintage" movies, Annie Hall is one of my favorite films as well as Manhattan, but every new movie I see from him dissapoints me and makes me think he's losing it.
  13. Based on the first rumors back when the Indy scores were getting a re-release, I think Bouzereau did more good than some people give him credit for.
  14. Yeah, but Indy is more expensive to do because of the fees, so the prequels might be more profitable even if they sell less, not to mention that there are way more hardcore SW fans (the people who buy anything with SW on it) than Indy fans. I do think we'll be waiting 4 or 5 years for them though.
  15. If Indy got expanded releases, the prequels will get them, I don't think it'll be soon but it will happen.
  16. Yeah... but that edit of Duel of the Fates was done for the album, and we all know Williams himself supposedly selects the music that is going to be on the album, so that particular piece would be Williams approved.
  17. Wait... are you saying the piece "Duel of the Fates" as we know it is and edit piece of several takes or that it was never really written to be like we know and is formed from different individual pieces?? If it's the latter, maybe Lucas hack job of the music isn't so crazy afterall??
  18. The music on the film must have made quite an impression for you to desire unreleased non-Williams music. Makes me really curious about the music on the movie.
  19. I've not seen the movie, but from the reviews, etc, it seems there's a lot of unreleased music. So basically, all of those reprises were recorded for the album I guess.
  20. I'm pretty sure it came form the film stems, it seems to fade out at the same time as in the movie, so probably the masters are still lost.
  21. At least in the movies they don't, but that's just one example of changes I've read people want, others include Gunships on Hoth, changing the Death Star plans on Yavin so they look like in the prequels, etc. Like I said, I think it would be simple (and profitable) to satisfy both groups in that respect.
  22. Ok, english problem, would it mean it's big? I was under the impression that "a dog" of whatever meant something bad.
  23. Oh, I first watched Jedi when I was like 3 years old, maybe younger and then I watched it so many times it probably spent more time raising me than my parents did And yes, some of my favorite bits were when Jabba knocks down 3PO, when Paploo (yes, I know the Ewoks names) steals the speeder bike, etc. So this is one movie I can truly watch with children's eyes and I think in that respect it's definately a triumph. As for the changes, some of the changes that bother me the most are the little ones, the ones nobody mentions. I was watching the original version of Empire the other day, it looks so much better without that horrible blue filter the DVD has, the snow actually looks white. The sad part is that it would probably be so easy just to release both versions, Lucas could probably double-dip with the most hardcore fans that need every single version, people like us could just buy the originals and some other fans could just buy the new versions. Afterall, there are, as I mentioned on some other topic, fans that want more changes (like broken battle droids on the Jawa Sandcrawler and crap like that), so there is another side to "The People vs George Lucas".
  24. The problem about bumping this particular thread is that is against the "not so new" rules.
