  1. Music question regarding Attack of the Clones... The scene where Anakin searches for his mother, was Duel of the Fates tracked in or was it newly recorded for this scene? Was Duel of the Fates always meant to used for this scene or did Williams have something different in mind? I ask because I'm not understanding why Duel of the Fates was used for the montage except that it works with the visuals. I don't believe Duel of the Fates was used elsewhere in the film... correct me if I'm wrong.
  2. I did! Although, it seemed like it was all (the exclusive information on Friday) related to this set. In any case, still looking forward to the big reveal.
  3. I don't think the prequel scores will happen for quite a while.
  4. Jurassic Park. I haven't been able to get into The Lost World, film or score. Maybe an expanded release will allow me to appreciate the music more, if that happens. In fact, I don't find Williams' film output from 1994 to 1998 all that interesting. Although, I have warmed up to Stepmom over the years.
  5. And like Jay said, Episode VII isn't on there yet and Williams has been confirmed to score the film for almost a year now.
  6. Would that resume only include completed works? Or have announced or upcoming works been included on the resume in the past?
  7. Looking forward to all of them, especially Star Wars, of course. I guess its to safe to assume that Williams will score the CW thriller and BFG since Spielberg is directing?
  8. And 3 days until the big reveal. Should we wear our John Williams masks?
  9. The only specific references to future projects that I can recall were Williams' wry comments about the next STAR WARS film. I wonder if Spielberg even knows what his future projects will be? Thanks for the other video, ShortFatGuy. Great stuff.
  10. Was there any mention or hint of some of Spielberg's projects for the next couple of years?
  11. Waitaminute . . . the countdown clock (which is still running) says 6 days. Is that why you locked the thread—because the timer was off by a couple of days, and you didn't know how to reset it? The countdown clock is about an exclusive info on jwfan. How is a public press release an exclusive info on jwfan.com? Are you sure it's exclusive to jwfan? The post title says "something exciting" but doesn't say it's exclusive... unless if I missed another post somewhere.
  12. Wow, that article was quite drastic. The other articles I've read simply say he injured his ankle. I hope it really isn't that serious.
  13. I'm very eager to hear the demos. I originally thought they would have been MIDI-type music, which I don't mind, but they're usually only good for one listen. Glad to hear that they are fully orchestrated. Since these are said to be slightly different than the film versions, would these be considered alternates?
  14. Drop Dead Fred was a childhood favorite of mine. Couldn't get enough of that film or Rik as Fred. Thanks for the laughs. RIP.
  15. Sounds like an excellent release! I only wish instrumentals were included. Oh well. Still excited to get this!
  16. The announcement says they will release titles through 2015... I hope this doesn't mean they will stop releasing them after 2015. Maybe they were just announcing titles through 2015. I am curious about what they are going to include in the Pocahontas release. Obviously, they won't include the uncensored versions of the Savages songs, but will they include the deleted song "If I Never Knew You"? Also, the instrumental beginning of "Savages Part 2" was different than the film version. I hope this new release includes the film version as I find it superior to the album version.
  17. True, but people were getting off topic about Star Wars and not relating it to the countdown. Although, other threads have been derailed, but those weren't locked. Who knows?
  18. Maybe because it was starting to become an off topic thread? Not sure what else people could post in there besides speculation.
  19. He is quite set in his modus operandi of just seeing the film and not having any prior knowledge of the plot or reading the script or apparently even having very detailed discussions with the director on the content of the movie so he can have as fresh an approach to the emotional narrative as possible, much like any audience member. Very old school. It is the exact opposite of some film composers who are very cerebral and study the subject matter deeply beforehand to kindle their inspiration and imagination. So I don't think he has been actively jotting down stuff or even given much active thought on the musical narrative as there is still no filmic one. I guess what I read about Williams talking about a Star Wars preview in 2014 was false, unless if the listening person simply misunderstood him.
  20. Must keep expectations down... Would Williams have ideas for Episode VII this far in advance? The score probably won't be recorded until this time next year. Although, I remember reading somewhere that JW supposedly said at one his concerts last year that maybe he'll have a preview for the new Star Wars film in 2014. Can't find where I read that, though, but I don't think it was from a reliable source.
  21. Hard to say what the next one will be without any direct clues. We know that Harry Potter will probably happen, but I don't think it will happen this year.
