I can't understand why the studios or Yates didn't go with Williams for one final outing - Desplat even tracked in a few of the cues from the first two films anyway...

If Williams were to continue the series, he would've done his own thing for sure. Weren't there rumours of Williams asking to do the last film?

Given the increased and reinvigorated marketing for the HP/Fantastic Beasts franchises, it seems incredibly fitting that there should be HP scores released this year. The marketing campaign for HP in particular has exploded over the last two months, leading up til Crimes of Grindelwald and beyond.

I think it's not worth worrying and getting your hopes up over this. Don't let the letdown when it's delayed, or not actually happening, let you down. The most likely scenario as others have stated was that there was meant to be an official announcement, but perhaps it was delayed, and MM's notes in the program reflect that it might've been scheduled for an announcement around the time he wrote those notes.

@Disco Stu my set of HPPS from the place-that-must-not-be-named is a special mastering of the leaked files, the Children's Suite included. The work put into mastering and arranging the cues and edits has been the closest thing we've had to a professional official release.

If it came down to a choice between HP and the other titles to be released, HP would win hands down! Sorry Superman and Schindler's List!

If one of the titles was delayed according to LLL, could it because they needed to check with the timing/printing of this program?

I'm glad Cuaron pushed Williams and allowed him to flex some of his darker writing, and I disagree with @bollemanneke that it discards the feeling of the first two, to me, it feels and sounds completely justified in the context of the series. Don't pull a Film tracks and say 'continuity is the golden standard, anything less is a failure.'
