Could you imagine if JW was on Twitter? You'd have all kinds of numpties tweeting at him about how the prequel Star Wars scores sound different.

No, it needs to be thrown into the Sarlacc Pit so Boba Fett is forced to listen to it for the rest of eternity.

Just like watching the EE's, the CR's were revelatory and completely altered my listening experience after years of only having the OSTs. The Special Editions of The Hobbit scores, whilst they present a bit more meat on the bone, they can sometimes be more frustrating because I'm still aware of the music that's missing. So much time has now passed since the films that the odds are diminishing, I'm hoping if the Rings CR's sell well, it might flip someone's switch high up in the food chain to consider doing the Hobbit scores!

The reasons I can see for the Hobbit Complete Recordings to exist:
The 2 hours of unreleased music that Jim mentions The opportunity for expanded liner notes (without having to avoid spoilers like the OST liners) The chance for the scores to be released on Bluray in high resolution and on Vinyl Presenting the score in complete chronological order (following the structure of the analysis in The Music of the Hobbit films) Opportunities for any other bonuses, like interviews/rarities/score sheet music excerpts
The music I’m most looking forward to off the top of my head:
Previously unheard DOS prologue battle music which is rumoured to combine the House of Durin theme and An Ancient Enemy theme Complete Spider sequences with additional Mirkwood theme appearances and Shelob-like music New Beorn sequence with the reprises of Thorin’s theme and the AUJ/FOTR dwarf welcome theme The gorgeous House of Durin statement for the EE scene in Laketown Complete Fire & Water piece, including the missing bard’s family theme statements and music for the dwarves watching from Erebor The complete Chariot battle sequence, with previously unheard music Complete BOTFA funeral piece  - dwarven themes in counterpoint, yes please!
I do hope these releases happen, and I think it is ultimately up to Shore. They’ve been doing complete/expanded release of his lesser known scores, so I hold out hope.

It got a significant backlash. All you have to do is tap on the screen like crazy, then wait 2 days or pay money to be able to tap some more. In one stage, the character is being strangled, and escaping requires more currency than you are allowed to store up at a time, so you're literally being strangled until you pay.

I'm not sure if this is the right area of the forum to discuss this but I recently watched a gameplay video for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery and I was surprised and amused by how the music in the game tries to carry over the sound of JW's Harry Potter scores. In a few places the music sounds almost like alternative versions of some themes and cues.

To me, this part sounds like an alternate version of Fawkes' Theme:

And the orchestration and style of this part reminds me of the general orchestral color of the 1st two HP scores:

Has Harry Potter video game music ever been discussed much on this forum? I'm now interested in listening to soundtracks to other Harry Potter games to find out how what they're like and if they are reminiscent of JW's scores.

I feel like J.J will at least request more new themes than Johnson did for the last entry.  TFA had a butt-ton of new themes

That's a very negative outlook on things!

Williams is too infatuated by Rey to just regurgitate an existing concert arrangement into his IX end credits suite. It's going to be the last chance he gets to farewell Rey's Theme with an original suite.

    He won't let us down.

PJ needs to release his 20 hour cut of the films and then release a giant wooden box-set called 'The Middle-earth Saga' with all the CR scores and Doug's book.

Giacchino would be great for Indiana Jones, most of his action scores have been stylistically borrowing from the Indy scores.

Currently there are forces at work deliberating over releasing a set of music for the last three books of the animated series Legend of Korra - a Nickelodeon show. It's crazy that they're even thinking of releasing another set, so it doesn't seem improbable that we might see TH CR's from a company that's looking for profit!

Well, that's the curious thing about the backlash to TLJ concerning RJ. From what we know, he had a good working relationship with the producers, the cast et al. the production went smoothly, with enough time to make adjustments to the film in post, and the film was projected to do well, not as overwhelmingly positive as The Force Awakens, but expected to perform well enough.

Then it was released, the critics gave a positive reception to the film and then the influx of hatred came pouring in. I don't care much for public opinion, the audience scores etc. so for me I wasn't exposed to the hatred until after I'd come home from the theatre and started to see all this bullshit online and it came down to these truly deluded fans who thought they were toyed with, who felt they'd been abused by an underwhelming Star Wars film, like it was their child that had been snatched in the night, with campaigns, to bring the franchise to a screeching halt.

It's dampened my enjoyment of all the films, and the newer ones when you know in the back of your head that everyone around you despises them.
