  1. Interstellar was a wonderful score with an emotional core.
  2. Both good, expressive scores, yet his recent output has been somewhat of a mixed bag.
  3. I haven't heard Valerian yet anyway, but I'm talking from my posterior anyway!
  4. A better comparison would be Giacchino's Jupiter Ascending vs. Desplat's Valerian!
  5. He could've just been feeding them their own shit!
  6. It's why Zimmer's a good fit for this then.
  7. There isn't enough hatred here for any hurt feelings to be had to begin with, Pieter!
  8. Mr. Williams, stir that emotional pot!
  9. It's not going to end as long as people have opinions. It is grating as I've said earlier that it's essentially the same tired things repeated, all hanging on the standards of those who are critical of Giacchino's work. Most of the time, it's harmless trolling, Zimmer and RCP receive more flak, yet often get a pass ''because innovation". I don't think it's likely to die down either, as Giacchino is offered more projects that might infringe on people's tastes. I say: suck it up, take the noise of opinions on both sides and then relegate it to the back of your mind until something else comes along!
  10. JWFan is an objective, authoritative platform for all news and information pertaining to John Williams, and sometimes Michael Giacchino. A bastion of enlightenment, nothing false can ever be found on these pages. (Except everything on this forum...)
  11. We might've been given the real Tomorrowland, instead we're left with Yesterdayland, a world of reruns and endless Star Wars.
  12. Fuck Disney! Oh sorry, I mean, PRAISE DISNEY, OUR NEW OVERLORDS FOR VANQUISHING JW RINZLER, THAT MOST VILE HERETIC!
  13. Harry Potter received the same flak as War Horse. It's the impossible standards that just can't be guaged. Either it stands out because it is prominent or it stands out because it is TOO prominent.
  14. What's that in your profile, Richard? Rush? Rush-ia, Russia?
