  1. I'm starting to really appreciate the little reference to Marion in her theme. I love the idea that Helena in a way is meant to remind Indy of Marion when she was that age, and it's fun that Indy gets to both start and end the films with her character in a way. Perhaps in a way she reminds him of who he used to be.
  2. @Jay This should do it for you, buddy. And, I mean, yeah, spoilers. But this was publicly shown so...
  3. You have to click his profile pic to view the Facebook stories. Should have a blue ring around his pic. Click that and then select "View story." You have to scroll past to the most recent ones. Not sure how to link them directly.
  4. In his Facebook stories, this user posted the 6 minutes of Indy 5 that got shown at Celebration: https://www.facebook.com/ThrowMeTheWhip/
  5. Pretty much confirmed on his Twitter. And it seems like he's not happy about it? I guess it got altered in some way after he submitted it?
  6. My bet is on Tony Stella, who did these great Raiders and Temple prints. I too can relate to spending hours on something only to then misspell a critical word in the titling.
  7. Saw the film last night. I struggle to objectively evaluate a score when it actually uses themes above and beyond what I was expecting. I'm so used to watching stuff like Marvel films and waiting for a thematic reprisal that never comes. This is one of the few movies in years where I'd go "man, it'd be cool if they played __________ here" and then they did. Most of my favorite thematic reprisals were one-offs, but they're not blink and you miss it like or barely heard in the mix (*cough* No Way Home *cough*) I'm talking shit like: It is one of the scores that feels like it was made for this community, and I'm all for it. You can tell they had fun with the music, and when that shows, chances are you end up having fun too. I don't know how much people will get out of this film if they aren't familiar with the Mario games. To that token, I think you'll have a good time with this, Jay.
  8. Isn't Ford great in that show?! (Shrinking on Apple TV)
  9. Thoughts on the score will be dropping way sooner than expected then! Excellent! Here's a critical question: will Burger King do another cross-promotion for this Indy sequel like they did with Crystal Skull?
  10. Say, isn't Williams doing TV projects these days? 👀
  11. this new episode really took things out of control spoilers do not watch if you aren't ready to see picard mcu.mp4
  12. Okay, to summarize based on me making multiple calls to the sales office: Tickets range in price from $109 to $175 dollars. ►You can purchase balcony section tickets NOW IF: You are a Carnegie subscriber1 (approx. $150) You can get balcony seats now and then exchange them for better seats for free starting August 14th if better seats are available. ►You can purchase tickets NOW for any seat IF: You are a Carnegie subscriber (approx. $150). You pay for the Gala package (donation fee of approx. $1000 ) Gala package includes the Gala event that coincides with the concert and will have more details released at a later time. ►You can purchase tickets on August 14th for any seat IF: You are a Carnegie subscriber (approx. $150) ►Otherwise, you can purchase tickets on August 21st because that is when the ticket office opens to the general public. ---------- NOTE: Tickets are not refundable and all sales are final. You can only exchange tickets for free if you are a subscriber. 1 - Carnegie subscriber means you have purchased a "series subscription." There are different subscriptions you can purchase. The Williams/Ma event isn't attached to any specific series subscription. It's called an add-on event, meaning you can claim this event as one of the things you can use your subscription on. I believe he said a subscription can start at around $150 or something around there. The series subscriptions are packages for multiple concert events you can choose to claim with your series subscription. Think of it as you getting a couple tokens that you can use to cash in on Carnegie Hall events. You can spend one of those tokens on this Williams/Ma event. @JohnnyD
  13. So I'm a bit confused how this works. Have tickets already gone on sale and you need a Carnegie Hall subscription to order them now? Or do you need a subscription to access pricing information but you can't currently order tickets but will be able to at a later date?
  14. Just wanted to say that your voice is a valued one on this forum. I seem to recall you, young William of Berkshire, joined at a young age and caught a lot of flack for it early on, but that never stopped you from holding your own and defending your ideas with power and strength. Had you never told us your age, I would have thought you were 26. Your depth of expression and ability to articulate thoughts has been so astoundingly clear from the get-go with you. Thanks for not just joining but for sticking around. I know there's no way these last 8 years haven't seen a lot of events thrown your way, and despite them all you continued to come here and post. I was 18 when you were 13 when you joined, so in a way it felt like I got to see you grow up a bit through the period of life I had just left from.

And that feeling of contentedness really helps give this forum that signature JWFan community feels, dawhg if u know what is up alrite bet!

I don't know how you young people talk.

    1. Will

      Will

This really means a lot -- thank you! Ever since I joined, you've definitely been one of the most positive, optimistic, & encouraging members here, which is really appreciated. Hard to believe it's been eight years -- at first I thought you got the number wrong, but you didn't! Amazing.

Anyway, as I said, you've been such a valuable member here from the beginning of my time and definitely contributed a lot to making me feel welcome. The message above was particularly nice to receive as I happened to be having a bit of a rough day at the time.

Here's to another eight years (at least)! :)

  15. Been watching it with my mom and it's been a joy. The perfect thing for us to both watch and maybe equally enjoy for different reasons. Never knew Harrison Ford could be this fucking funny. What have you thought of it?
  16. Finally got around to checking this. Maybe this is why I'm single:
  17. Thanks a lot for explaining, Jay. I really appreciate it. What are the two, if I may ask?
  18. Sorry, would you mind clarifying what you mean by the "in the OST" regarding Weathertop's reveal?
  19. I've been trying to find a thread that's like "things only JWFan members do" or "you might be a film score fan if.." but can't remember it. Anyone know what I mean?
  20. What was it said when they walked up to accept the RRR award? I tuned out and heard someone say "said their work was heavily influenced by John Williams, who was also nominated tonight" or something like that
  21. additional layer was added when it played on the pirated stream i was watching.
