leeallen01 got a reaction from Yavar Moradi in James Newton Howard - NIGHT AFTER NIGHT
Listening my way through now. Very slowly as I can't resist just replaying every piece over and over again as I go.
It might be my own projected thoughts onto the music, but to me I really hear the difference in Hilary Hahn.
E.g. in the original score, she works perfectly as an innocent musical voice, as JNH described it as a mirroring with Bryce Dallas Howard; both being young women giving the voice to Ivy. But now as Hahn is 20 years older, I listen to her pieces differently. She feels like she's playing a 40 year old Ivy's voice in some kind of sequel to the Village. I can easily imagine current Bryce and Joaquin with a big family of lots of kids running around, still living in the Village today. It's wonderful.

Man, this album...
Whenever I stumble upon listening to anything Lady in the Water for example, it just has an instant weird relaxing effect. Those descending strings of the theme are so perfectly calming, and it says so much so simply; it's mysterious, flowing, serene, and still has an edge of darkness.
I might re-number all the tracks in order of film release for my listening continuity.

leeallen01 got a reaction from Andy in THE ORVILLE - Music Discussion (Bruce Broughton, Joel McNeely, John Debney, Andrew Cottee, Kevin Kaska)
I have seen several social media posts and media comments suggesting he's really trying to continue with a 4th season. As are all the rest of the cast and crew.

Then they should go even bigger and take it to the cinema.
This is the finest entertainment I’ve enjoyed in the past handful of years. It’s a damn shame this isn’t universally recognized. At times it makes its competitor franchises look like amateur fan films.

I heard it did quite well on hulu and disney+ but not sure. It was top 10 for a long time in viewers.
I think it wont get a 4th season with Disney, simply because Disney are losing so much money with streaming and their theatrical movies are losing so much too.

It's amazing and the episodes themselves were amazing too. I wish it got more viewers and we could get a fourth season

I am still in awe of the season 3 score.

I've been waiting for this album all my life.
Speechless.

He should do a whole album with Hahn like Williams did with Mutter. They seem to agree with one another.

I didn't know what to listen to this morning so put on album shuffle and the S3 album came up.
I've just finished the score of Episode 5. Just like Rings Of Power I'm really amazed at the incredible music written here. It doesn't matter how many times I've heard it, it remains as fantastic as the first time.
Kelly Invites Topa is just incredible. And I've replayed Dalakos Arrival & Training Excersice both 4 times before moving on.
I know upcoming cues like Returning Home, Common Ground & Breaking In might have the same impact.
It's just spectacular stuff!

Anyone with a source able to find out why John won't come back to London?? Seen him in Berlin but I'm dying to see him reunite with the London Symphony

Isn't it done for the masses who don't know/care what an orchestra is? I mean, aren't we a minority who actually go for the orchestra?

That's the right way to do it. Let the sound effects take a backseat to the music for a change.

I was surprised how quiet the sound effects were for The Two Towers concert. They were very low. Only the dialogue was featured.

Snap
I wanted to be right next to the orchestra so I could just watch them. Everyone around me had their necks twisted looking up at the screen from a horrible angle. I'm not kidding when I say that the only times I looked at the screen were when they stopped playing music for a few seconds here and there haha. I always think that if I wanted to watch the film, I'd do it at home. I'm there for the orchestra.

Hahaha I'm going insane because I can't actually believe we are getting this!
Are you bloody kidding me?
It's like JNH asked me personally what I'd love to have from him and he just said "sure, no probs."
