  1. I'm even more surprised we still don't know what the other things they're releasing on 4 May are.
  2. I just thought of this, Jay: How happy are you with the presentation yourself? Would you have preferred anything to be different at all?
  3. They always do. Their entire FB page reads as like a 'stop complaining please' plea which is uncalled for I think. Wait, maybe I shouldn't say that or I''ll get banned again.
  4. And we are FINISHED! 1500+ albums tagged, and tagged properly. Let the proofing begin.
  5. I stopped making my own programs years ago, it's a Pandora box I don't really want to re-open. Having no control over track order is just too easy.
  6. Ah, no no, sorry. I mean film versions as in as-recorded. Like Southampton.
  7. No album versions/alts in the main program. This should never be done in my view.
  8. I'll be metadata-editing JW albums in honour of the occasion.
  9. I got it too. Never had e-mail problems, it was the FB problem that took years to sort. Also, how on earth is Titanic only going OOP now? The hype surrounding that score release was quite insane. With good reason.
  10. Original film score: ALWAYS film year, regardless of expansion or not Re-recording: always year of re-recording
  11. All the Mozart symphonies by Adam Fischer. I bow down to him and the wallet will be opened very shortly.
  12. I can. I can honestly happily say that, while such sets would certainly be exciting, I don't need them at all. I don't plan on getting swept up in unreleased Star Wars or Indy music mania. Those days are over. Too much music to listen to anyway. One day, Mike will do them and then I'll sit back and enjoy it all.
  13. "Even though no footage was recorded, a Deluxe Blu-Ray will be released in the winter."
  14. I'll never bother with composers of pop songs, just the band/singer. I do include singers in operas in the Comment tag, though. Damn the guys who thought it was great to have 235 recordings of everything.
  15. Thank you. So for classical music, who is your artist/album aritst? I'm currently doing artist =composer, albumartist =orchestr/conductor.
  16. If your music is in folders, how do you sort the albums?
  17. But then how do you sort using a folder structure?
  18. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Deutsche Grammophon Unveils Highly Anticipated Release: John Williams in Vienna Part 2 Deutsche Grammophon is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of John Williams in Vienna Part 2 on 2 CDs. Following the resounding success of the first installment, fans around the world have eagerly awaited this next chapter in the collaboration between the legendary composer John Williams and the Vienna Philharmonic. 19. So I’m finally getting on top of my metadata because, well, classical music and all that. And so I am in need of your good counsel again. Do you put the composer in the title? As in: Beethoven – Violin Concerto. I know this is how people supposedly do it, but my issue with it is that you end up grouping everything together and never really remind yourself of another nearby album because all the Beethoven is together. I would never ever write: Williams – Hook, because, well, it’s kind of self-explanatory. What do you think of Violin Concerto (Beethoven?) I like it because it groups violin concertos together and therefore encourages me to look at other related things, but then you start with Symphonies and it just becomes one huge giant mess because everyone wrote them. If you keep your music in a folder structure, how does this work, regardless of your metadata? If you group together, by what/whom? I’m basically looking for a very intuitive way to quickly find things, but am not sure about a right… order.
  20. Strauss waltzes, Karajan and Berlin, on Warner. The playing is just incredible. Easily surpasses the DG recordings as far as I recall, and yes, the VPO too.
  21. Oh, yes it does, sorry, I was mixing things up. I had forgotten that Cornucopia itself was a cue as well and not just the insert.
  22. Oh, really? So the beginning of the cue, everything pre-food, is also a re-recording? I always assumed they just re-did that little sniplet the moment Peter sees the food.
