I was really looking forward to a new arrangement of Leia's Theme. Real bummer to see it not on the album.

I think it was nothing more than a fun little quote because of the similarity in scenario and action at that moment. TLJ is the most self-aware/referential Star Wars score yet, and I think this short musical moment is one example of that.

I've been working on Williams's action music lately, and as part of this project I put together a little super-cut of everyone's favorite tune, the "Ludlow Motif". Let's see how long it is before YouTube decides to take this down.

Am I missing anything? There are corners of the War Horse and BFG scores I'm not so familiar with where this gesture may lurk..

Masterpiece or not, I do think that the concluding tracks on the album contain some of the most jaw-droppingly gorgeous and moving music that I know. So the score means a lot to me, even while it may not be the most engaging listening experience as a whole.

Completely agree with this.  The last two tracks just absolutely crush me.   I also like how both tracks feel like end credits pieces.

Just finishing listening to Peace and Purpose from JW's TLJ OST. I've said before but really the film should have ended with this scene and cue. It has such good presentations of different themes. It sounds like a classic closing cue...but then we get yet another binary sunset cue.

Listening to this piece again, it is wonderful to hear JW working with a free-er hand while revisiting old material.

Wow! What a fun and exciting piece. JW's writing here has a quality of vitality and energy that reminds me of the best moments of The Last Jedi but written in a much different voice.

This happened to me with the latest ET release and for a while with AI as well. Come to think of it, I pretty much become obsessed with almost all expanded JW score releases upon initial release.

I am completely in love with the first third of Wizard's Consort. I wish there were even more parts of the score that are that bare, although there are quite a few already.

BTW I think Meet Han works far better as the opening track of the album with The Adventures of Han as the final track, a kind of cleaner, celebration of the main themes with a very golden-age opening fanfare. I love the low brass that starts Meet Han. A really moody intro to a SW score that doesn't attempt to match the Main Titles at all.

Having listened to the OST twice through now, this is easily the most successful JW score follow up by a different composer that I can recall. There are very few pastiche moments and Powell integrates JW's music very well with his own style. I'm not sure he succeeds 100% in his attempt to create the same kind of "flow" JW has in his music, but it's pretty close.

I'm hearing a lot of similarities between the Galaxy's Edge theme and The Adventures of Han. I guess some of these are modern JW adventure music characteristics. The sound seems nice and bright.

I enjoy these trailer house versions of JW music. It's fun and effective and perfectly fine until they crop up in an actual SW film.
