I saw someone hint at this elsewhere in this thread, but I thought I'd post some proof. Not only does Kobe have a picture of John Williams in his office, it's right over his desk, along with a few other notable folks.
It's hidden by the door frame (how disrespectful!) but it's this promo portrait:
Regardless of your opinion of the man, he's very intelligent and seemingly began planning his post-basketball career a while ago. He's been very vocal in interviews about pursuing entertainment and storytelling, hence the four portraits. Steve Jobs might be a bit of a stretch in the storytelling department, unless the story being told is that you definitely need Apple products over the alternative, in which case he surpasses anyone else on that wall.
Anyway, when I learned about this, I thought it was pretty cool. Many professional athletes are entirely single minded about their career in sports and often neglect what happens when they have to move on. I'm excited to see what Kobe does with his intelligence, passion, and influence. And, of course, to hear what the Maestro has cooked up for him!
