Yeah, different techniques, time frames. Ant-Man and the Marvel films use Lola VFX, a studio specialized in de-aging; they do it by hand, almost like photoshopping each frame. On The Mandalorian I can't tell whether they tried to be bold and push their tech or if they rushed it carelessly and the results were less than ideal. Rogue One was a traditional CGI approach, unlike Lola, they modeled, motion captured and rendered Leia and Tarkin over a year and a half.
