    JW Chamber Music

Thank you everyone! I'll listen to this works. Do you find passages and techniques in this concert music which sounds very similar to some film music cues? I am analyzing his Elegy and the melodic line, harmonic language, modulations recalls 7 years in Tibet. That's obvious since as far as I know he wanted to use this theme for the movie actually

    JW Chamber Music

Good evening everyone! I am working on a thesis about chamber music written by film music composers (Korngold, Nino Rota, Rozsa to name a few..). I'd like to include Williams' chamber works to this list. Do you have any informations, cool stories, analysis about the maestro chamber style? Everything is useful to me. I am interested especially on the Elegy for cello since I am going to play it. Thank you!
  3. Hello everyone! I hope this is the right place to start this topic. I have recently worked on this adventure piece which soon became an homage to the Maestro. I did a montage with some of my favorite scenes/characters. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did composing this music!
  4. I am selling these two tickets! Unfortunately I can't go to the Hans Zimmer concert and I have one more ticket for the John Williams' one (limited visibility).
  5. Thank you! I bought another one because I was too worried (The organ ledge seems to cover the stage even if you are in front row..at least from the 3D image of the place). me too! And at the hollywood bowl on 1st september too! I can't wait..
  6. Yeah, I messed up then! Well, at least I'll be there I guess
  7. Anyone here has experience with the organbalkon? It's 35 but it seems like there is no visibility at all..
  8. I wish I was so sure about finding the tickets as you!
  9. I think it's his way to say farewell to Europe!
  10. I'll try to be in Wien too for this concert...do you think they'll go sold out immediately as the London one?

    Works where JW quotes himself

Thanks for this reply! That's what I meant: the issue of style. Maybe quotes wasn't the right word. I'd like to discover melodic sequences that Williams, because of his style, uses unintentionally (or for sure he notices similarities but keep them because it's a matter of style and inner voice). I am sorry if I still can't explain what I really want to say. For example, there's a part on Hook score which melodically reminds me a lot the Harry Potter one. I don't remember the exact point, I'll post here once I have time to listen to it. This is the "Death of Dooku" cue

    Works where JW quotes himself

Good evening, I was score reading some ROTS cues and I found this trombones passage which recalled me the Elegy for Cello. I'd like to know where Williams quotes himself, uses similar motives, orchestration, etc. in his works. Both consciously (like in E.T. with Yoda's theme) or unconsciously.
