Hymn to the Fallen is music fit for the funeral of presidents and war heroes.
Good thing, then, that Williams did not call it Hymn to the Draft Dodgers and Cowards.

Its all fun and games now, but remember your enthusiasm for this when you read the following blurb next year. "Due to overseas conducting commitments, Williams had to pass on scoring Spielberg's highly anticipated new UFO movie. Spielberg admitted that he was disappointed but looks forward to working with Zimmer for the first time."

I know it only references film scores, but I wonder if the piano concerto might get added.

Does anyone think Weird Al is coming back for this?

Furthermore, just because Spielberg 'will make' this UFO movie, that doesn't necessarily mean that he'll be directing it. It could be that his production company, Amblin, is putting up the money to have it made and that he'll hire a director to it. If that is the case, then that director will be hiring the composer of his choice, not necessarily JW.
On the other hand, I'm not overlooking the idea that the chosen director may bring in JW to do the music, but not puttng my hopes on that, at this earlier stage.
Even if Spielberg is just producing, if Williams wants to do it, he will get to do it.

Antique stuff is often expensive.
Not always. Museums give that stuff away for free. They put it all out on tables and label them for your convenience.

I wonder if Spielberg knows that he made this movie in the 70s.
Williams better score the damn thing.

These movies in German (according to Google Translate) are called "Kevin Alone at Home" and "Kevin Alone in New York"? Huh
Kevin is the main character in each of the movies. He is a kid who accidentally gets left alone at home by his family and then separated from his family in New York. These movies are scored by none other than John Williams, before he rose to fame with such hits as A Timeless Call and PBS Great Performances.

From the earliest of times, turtles have been associated with promiscuity. Please do not judge all turtles harshly, as some turtles show sexual restraint and relationship fidelity. However, at the same time, stereotypes often have a basis in reality. So, it still is prudent to proceed with a reasonable caution when dealing with turtles.

Let's go with a shoes edition of JWCC:

what I want is a good recording of the Children's Suite version with the alternate bombastic ending.
Didn't some orchestra just release this? Maybe Japan or eastern Europe. I cannot remember--maybe someone here does.

I'm sure there will be some pearl clutching to think that someone could write a score as good as JW, but I think this is one of those (admittedly rare) cases.

I think the nature of blockbusters need to change as well for this to happen. Huge, overstuffed, CGI fests are just not conducive to refined scoring.
Do you think Saving Private Ryan is a masterpiece?

Anyone still annoyed that this film lost out to Shakespeare In Love?
