  1. They might have wanted to hear the finished product first. If Disney ended up rejecting it and going a different route, they would have looked bad had they officially announced her.
  2. Still more inspirational than VIII and IX.
  3. This particular theme benefits greatly from the scaled-down chamber approach. I never liked the thick strings in the original--just seemed too much. I think this will both breathe new life into the piece and become the "standard" version going forward.
  4. Its too bad they cut off the video just before Williams stands up and berates them Buddy Rich-style.
  5. I have an idea for a series about Luke Skywalker set 10 years before A New Hope. He goes on a heroic journey and then blows up a Death Star at the end.
  6. Maybe there is no Obi Wan series. They have secretly filmed episode X and that is the big announcement next week.
  7. Of course he didn't practice too much; that, by definition, would be too much.

    Easter/Spring

Excellent suggestions. As I think more about it, A Song for World Peace has a springtime feel to it.
  9. Perhaps a thread already exists, but I thinking about what JW pieces evoke Easter and/or Spring. His fanfarish channels summer to me, Lincoln screams Fall to me, and his Christmas music hits winter. I would go with The Map Room: Dawn for the religious side and Sleepers Reunion and Finale for Spring/rebirth.
  10. Not to get too philosophical, but the title of this album really does nail the priorities for "old man" Williams--nothing flashy, nothing pretentious, nothing all that self-serving--none of that crap matters once the pretensions and stupidity of ego and self-importance dwindle as one ages. What remains: Williams, his friends, and music.
  11. Plus, the three of them were good friends and had each others back as standards of comedy abruptly changed. Sad day.
  12. Maybe this is connected to the other thread from Japan. "Williams is starting"...but he needs a piggyback ride to get things going faster.
  13. Hey, how is going, Curley? I'm not Curley; you're Curley? Oh, yeah. Hey, let's go make fun of people without musical talent.
  14. I started once, but I have yet to finish.
  15. Yes, well I said I was stupid (but, hey, Williams thinks the movie is untitled and he scored it, so...)
  16. I can be slow on the uptake, so perhaps this is known to everyone, but reading the article below, the last name of the family is Fabelman. https://deadline.com/2022/04/the-fabelmans-star-gabriel-labelle-signs-with-caa-1234993990/
  17. Crazy how key changes and such create such different moods. Who knew Potter was so close to SL?
  18. What Morricone is thinking looking at Williams' hand:
  19. Just a joke on my part that a studio will withhold a score release just because the movie bombs.
  20. I hope to be able to hear the Fabelmans' score; let's hope the movie doesn't bomb.
  21. It is a mature, reflective piece. The "old" guy that I am finds it brilliant in structure, melodies, and execution--a fitting musical end to the story . However, it is the "final" SW episode, I can understand the expectations for a big dramatic blowout piece--its Star Wars after all.
  22. Who among us has not thrown eggs at a person during the middle of an act that has nothing to do with us? Let him without sin cast the first egg.
  23. Assuming the rumor is true, I think she will do well. She has shown great potential. She has the theme/s by Williams (and probably some general guidance from him as well--he seems to genuinely like to mentor). While her resume is good, this could be a transformative assignment.
