I hope they dust of Yes, Giorgio for any new studio sessions. That’d be great in an arrangement for Anne-Sophie!

I’ve been an avid collector for 30 years, and still I “only” own 75 % of the content of this box. And I’d wager that’s a pretty decent percentage!
 
Still, lots of the stuff that is on here that I never got isn’t really “rare” - it’s just that I never pulled the trigger on the OSTs. I just figured I’d “get to it later”.
 
Thats about five discs worth of content that I don’t own.
 
This box is a great way to “catch up” on a lot of that music!

A truly magnificent evening! The Maestro was in top form and still sharp as a nail (except only a couple self-described “senior moments”, and during one I helped him remember Sean Connery’s name!). The new version of “Scherzo” was great fun and very much tailored for Anne-Sophie’s style, but the bigger highlight for me was the new version of “Anakin’s Theme” that was also done for her. It took the changes from the version debuted at Tanglewood this past summer and greatly expanded on them, ending on a haunting harp rendition of the Imperial March very similar to what’s played when the character dies at the end of Return of the Jedi - a truly unexpected and chill-inducing callback!

Wait, so Scherzo for Motorcycle and Anakin's Theme now exist in violin arrangements?  This is headline news!  When's the studio session?  And when were these written?  In the same flurry of cookie-inspired creativity, or later?  Is there still hope for Jazz Autographs for Violin and Orchestra?

Yeah it’s a beaut! It’s a limited edition Macanudo with a metal band - not many made. A rich cigar that I’ve only got a few of and I save ‘em for special occasions. It felt fitting for the soundtrack.

I had gone back and forth debating whether I should get this set or not since I own all of the Maestro's work that is on this set either physical or digital. After seeing the beautiful packaging and the booklet it comes with, including an original interview with the Maestro, I finally decided to get this. Ordered from Music Box Records, their last copy in stock!

For whatever reason, of all the orders I have made from LLL, this one took the longest to ship out and then get to me, but I'm happy it's here! 
 
I still remember getting the OST as a Christmas present in 1999. I first got into movie scores in 1997 or so, and for some years onward I always asked for soundtracks for Christmas. I remember listening to it when Y2K happened. I think I paused the track briefly to see if the world ended, and then continued onward when it did not. Good memories! I'm excited to dig into this!
