I know for my I've largely stopped buying the scores because of the increase postage to Europe and that my CD's where always being stopped by customs. I used to avidly buy from Intrada, LLL and Varese but I haven't bought a CD from them in 3-4 years. The increased costs, and the necessity of traveling by train (1 hour each way), plus a 1.5km walk each way to the customs office just robbed the pleasure of getting the scores. I know the model doesn't allow for it, but I dearly wish they could sell these limited releases digitally. I will be picking this up though, one way or another. I need to find a European reseller.

The Force Awakens The Force Awakens SPOILERS ALLOWED Discussion Thread

Worst CGI for me was the shot of Rey beside her At-At home, looked like a poorly done mat painting -
The Force Awakens The Force Awakens 2CD Expanded Score coming Q1 2016?

I'd love it to be true, but I'd be _very_ surprised. -
The Force Awakens Rey's Theme – John Williams' Best Theme Yet?

Yeah thats the voting option that I wanted. "No but its very good" -
Mark's response is perfect, exactly what I thought of. My god I've been hoping for that (and the others) to get a re-release, though preferably with the score and any other bits and bobs they had (cut songs, demos). Cannot have enough Muppets! (Disney really need to finish releasing The Muppet Show)

Has there been any word about composer? I am actually hoping it will go to McCreary but I think its unlikely with him already doing Defiance & Da Vinci's Demons (assuming he is back for season 2 of both shows)

George Lucas's 1981 plans for the Prequel Trilogy

Fascinating. -
How different is the film mix from the album mix? Rosewood is one of those William scores I'm not so fond of, like Angela's Ashes and Stepmom. I've also never seen the movie which i admit may color my opinion. It is a little disappointing that we are getting the OST version as well, though I understand why they have too.

The Force Awakens John Williams scoring all three new Star Wars films!!

Oh I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed that trailer (not played SW:TOR, my comp isn't up to it). I wish they'd employed this technique to make another SW animated movie, its very nicely done and just runs circles around the end of AOTC. JW's music was integrated well into the scene, but then I also liked McNeely's SOTE -
Question to ask Lukas that I imagine he wouldn't answer: Which releases from other labels do you think were harmed compromised as a result of involving the composer? Great interview Maurizio, very in depth and informative.

Apologies, my sarcasm detector has been broken these last few days. -

It is on iTunes and Amazon. Dunno if that qualifies as "proper" if you are looking for a physical release. Excellent, in this instance proper is a digital release which I hadn't expect but I'm glad to hear there is one. Just wish it had been a lossless release (really why can't more stuff be released via Bandcamp or its ilk rather than iTunes/Amazon) Yes, nothing wrong with VGM. Indeed Starhawk was one of my fav overall releases from last year. Still, to each their own. -

Hadn't heard he was doing the music to this game. Really like the Main Theme (reminds me a little of ST 2009 towards the end with the way it builds) and not what I'd have expected for the game. I presume there isn't a proper release to this anywhere? -
Thanks for the track times. So Picking Pockets is def confirmed dropped? Do you know why? (given you seem like you have an info tap)

Thoroughly fascinating thread, I am amazed at the information and music you "guys" have been able to pull / cobble together. I notice no one else commented on this but I loved the piece and it fit the scenes so well. Having not watching ROTS since the cinema (even though I have the DVD) I have no idea if you edited the scenes together or if that was how Lucas had it. Hopefully one day it will be possible to hear a fan reconstruction of the score, or a proper release; though I struggle to believe it will happen. Particularly as the cue sheet someone mentioned talked about 147 minutes of music, seem incredibly unlikely they'd do three discs for the score (though I would gladly pay for it, particularly if it was as well put together as the LOTR Complete score sets were) Sadly I can't play some of the other videos in this thread due to good old music publishing rights "Unfortunately, this SME-music-content is not available in Germany because GEMA has not granted the respective music publishing rights."

Gelb as in Yellow? (Put me in the camp that didn't know the internal names oft changed) No, Gelb as in Peter Gelb, the head of Sony music at the time of AOTC's release http://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19354&view=findpost&p=706657 Thanks Jason, fascinating. *off for a long read* -

1941 - 2CD Expanded Score by La-La Land Records
tarasis replied to John Takis's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
I hope both versions are on the disc, I'm rather partial the brief bit of vocal (much like I like having and not having Spock's narration at the end of ST:WoK). Regardless I am really looking forward to this release, 1941 has been a guilty pleasure since I first saw it on TV many eons ago.
