  1. Still waiting on a release of what he did for Peter Jackson's KING KONG.
  2. The additional music more than makes up for not having simple OST edits. There is so much great material for this score that is not on the OST. Some of my favorite tracks weren't originally on it, tbh. Unlike the first JP album that largely had the best bits.
  3. My fun article on the soundtrack, with its prior and current releases, for what it's worth: https://jurassicoutpost.com/the-lost-world-jurassic-park-soundtrack-by-john-williams-gets-a-new-2-cd-release
  4. Shouldn't we all be messaging them to the point of overdoing it to make a point? Like to share all of our disappointment? It's honestly bad business. And surely with enough immediate demand they would reconsider since it was never explicitly stated it was limited.
  5. Well, probably because it's still in print. But I am sure they will promote it again the day this one comes out. Maybe even offer a bundle price? EDIT: Oh you're referring to the LPs. I still stand by what I said!
  6. While I don't collect vinyl myself, I do hope there is one for TLW, and JP3 someday. Neither ever got one, unlike all the other Jurassic scores. It would be cool to see what Mondo would come up with.
  7. Paul Reubens, aka Pee Wee Herman. This one cuts deep. https://variety.com/2023/film/news/paul-reubens-dead-pee-wee-herman-1235683504/
  8. Just... listen... https://mediagraph.io/parkendium/explore/collections/public-relations#/assets/5725faf1-74d9-421e-b863-e12d91b7be4f
  9. It actually looked better to me than I had expected from the scene as it was shown in the trailer. Of course, the trailer cut its moments in a certain way that seemed far less appealing than they do in this full clip.
  10. I AM CALM! I mean... I am calm. I guess for a first music-in-the-scene clip that was probably not a good one for us music fans to have. I still have hopes it will all work in context! But, I also know we all can have a bad day at the office...
  11. So I'm NOT just hearing things, right? It IS note-per-note. Is it possible Cannes only had access to an early clip to showcase that had tracked music? Or the film itself simply tracked it? I just find it bizarre Williams did it this way himself, unless he did it as a way to kind of connect the series as a whole since this is the last one? I don't know how I feel about that if so...
  12. Why does it sound... temp-tracked to me? Like the very end of it literally sounds like a cue from KOTCS. Not even loosely, I mean JUST like it.
  13. Must depend on the region. It is also on Paramount+ for those who have that streaming service. Very curious about the score! I actually loved the movie itself when I saw it as a kid, curious to rewatch it as an adult, haha. I didn't realize Powell did the final score for the film, let alone the Bernstein rejection! Definitely wanna check all of this out overall haha.
  14. Well tracks 10-21 on CD 2 of Intrada's release actually features the entire contents of the Bay Cities Album. From what I recall, the album version as presented on CD 2 is exactly the same mixing and sound quality as it is on the Bay Cities Album. So there's really no need to own that version if you have Intrada's. But it is correct that the mixing of the Album is different than the "complete" version Intrada produced for CD 1 and tracks 1-9 on CD 2. And for certain tracks at least, I do prefer the Album mixing. However, over the years I think I have gotten used to Intrada's mix? Their release still has issues though. Despite what they claimed at the time, it IS missing some music, or at least film alternates. Whether the alternates were created editorially or not, maybe we'll never know, but I'd love to hear the film version of "Mombi's Awake" for example. There's definitely some differences going on in the film, there.
  15. Powell just responded to my comment if the CDs would have the same content as the digital release, and he said: Yes!
  16. I asked him in the comments if the contents will be the same, since he does sometimes respond. We'll see if he does!
  17. You say that, but I know if this was a John Williams score we'd be hearing crying for YEARS!
  18. And it's up! Unfortunately it seems to be missing alternates and etc, but I guess it would have pushed it to 2 CDs. Still going to get it though. https://varesesarabande.com/collections/cd-club-and-limited-editions/products/the-time-machine-the-deluxe-edition-cd
