  1. While we’re eagerly anticipating the shipment of this new set, care to peek at half of the original CD breakdown?
  2. I’m surprised no one’s commented on the sample of the short version of Farewell Neverland. It sounds just like the familiar ending until abruptly heading off in a different direction (sounding rather like the Never-feast insert) at the very end of the clip. What a tease!
  3. Those had 226 minutes and 184 minutes recorded, respectively, well over the running time of two CDs, 160 minutes. I actually timed it out TLC one time, and I came up with: Film Score Presentation 105 minutes Source Music 9 minutes Alternates 32 minutes That would fit comfortably on 2 discs.
  4. The original soundtrack of The Patriot was released on Hollywood Records, owned by Disney, which hasn’t worked with La-La Land to date. Much likelier to be an Intrada release. But yes, it’d make for a fantastic 2-CD set!
  5. I'd previously shared the Sleepers breakdown in a different thread, but it hasn't made its way here yet: Sleepers (1996) 1 Sleepers At Wilkinson 3:42 0:00-2:18 1M1 Sleepers 2:18-end 3M5 New - Last Night at Wilkinsons 2 Hell’s Kitchen 5:23 8M5 New - Hell’s Kitchen 3 The Football Game 4:10 3M3 New - The Football Game 4 Saying The Rosary 6:54 0:00-2:22 7M3 At Mass 2:22-end 6M5 Saying The Rosary 5 The Trip To Wilkinson 2:35 2M7+8 The Sentencing 6 Time In Solitary 4:24 4M2 Football Star 7 Revenge 2:47 7M4 New - Revenge For Rizzo 8 Michael’s Witness 4:09 7M3 New - The Crossexamination Of Ferguson 9 Learning The Hard Way 5:22 0:00-1:05 1M10 Lessons In An Alley 1:05-1:43 2M4 Down Subway Stairs 1:43-end 3M1 New - The Basement At Wilkinsons 10 Last Night At Wilkinson 3:51 3M5 New - Last Night At Wilkinsons 11 Father Bobby’s Decision 3:56 2M6 Talking to Father 12 Reliving The Past 3:41 0:00-0:11 unknown, possibly dictated at session 0:11-2:40 3M1 Life At Wilkinson’s 2:40-end 8M8 Father Bobby Reflects 13 Reunion And Finale 5:30 0:00-2:40 9M3 The Reunion 2:40-end 9M5 Finale
  6. There's roughly 21-22 minutes unreleased from Sleepers, if everything in the sketches was recorded:
  7. There’s certainly nothing in JW’s sketch to indicate it’s an alternate:
  8. I believe that's tracked, because the same music appears again along with the rest of the Polybius Cipher material. That would explain why 'Helena's Tutorial' is in the cue list in two different places. My little theory is the very opening of the Prologue track is the original cue composed for Helena's introduction.
  9. If this version of Rey’s theme seems oddly familiar, that’s because it was tracked into TROS (when Rey is on the Star Destroyer, just before Kylo shows up in his TIE Fighter). Big thanks to @Falstaft for catching that!
  10. Yep, here's confirmation of the original order of the suite:
  11. I guess JW changed his mind and swapped the order. I believe at the Detroit Symphony's premiere performance of the complete suite, The Rise Of Skywalker was in fact the 2nd movement (and Psalm of the Sith was 1st).
  12. I've got the FYC pretty much figured out, but there's still some unknowns in the OST: OST 1 Fanfare and Prologue 4:35 0:00-1:26 1M1 Main Title 1:26-2:06 1M22 The Ninth Beginning 2:06-end 1M8 Approaching the Nursery 2 Journey to Exegol 2:49 0:00-1:01 1M7 Journey To Hell [?] 1:01-1:42 1M10 Ready To Be A Jedi 1:42-end 1M15 Vader’s Castle 3 The Rise of Skywalker 4:18 The Rise of Skywalker 4 The Old Death Star 3:17 0:00-0:48 5M10 Landing At ? 0:48-1:20 4M30 It Fits! 1:20-2:21 5M10 Landing At ? 2:21-end 5M12 Off The Waterfront 5 The Speeder Chase 3:21 0:00-0:35 3M1 Before the Chase 0:35-3:08 3M3 [untitled] 3:08-end unknown 6 Destiny of a Jedi 5:12 0:00-0:22 7M2 Rey Meets Luke 0:22-1:13 6M20 Sabre Toss 1:13-3:01 7M3 Luke's Advice 3:01-end 7M10 Leia's Sabre 7 Anthem of Evil 3:24 0:00-1:48 unknown 1:48-2:00 1M8 Approaching the Nursery 2:00-2:48 unknown 2:48-3:07 6M12 Six Twelve 3:07-end unknown 8 Fleeing from Kijimi 2:52 0:00-1:38 5M1 Meddling and Poe's Crush 1:38-end 5M7 I'm The Spy 9 We Go Together 3:17 0:00-2:33 2M6 The Medal 2:33-end 2M7 Ship Trip 10 Join Me 3:43 0:00-0:57 5M8 Geneology 0:57-1:31 1M8 Approaching the Nursery 1:31-2:58 8M4 Psalm of the Sith 2:58-end 5M8 Geneology 11 They Will Come 2:50 0:00-1:29 7M4 The Meeting 1:29-end 7M5 March of the Resistance 12 The Final Saber Duel 3:58 0:00-1:05 6M7 Stop and Start 1:05-2:54 6M8 Healing Wounds 2:54-end 5M30 Under A Blanket 13 Battle of the Resistance 2:51 0:00-1:19 7M12 Seven Twelve 1:19-end 7M12A Horses #2 14 Approaching the Throne 4:16 0:00-2:18 7M20 Approaching the Throne 2:18-3:54 7M30 More Action 3:54-4:03 8M4 Psalm of the Sith 4:03-end 1M26 Lightspeed Skipping 15 The Force Is With You 3:59 0:00-1:40 7M38 I Am All The Sith 1:40-3:02 7M44 Name That Tune 3:02-end 8M10 Success and Sliding 16 Farewell 5:14 0:00-0:48 8M11A Dropping the Sabre 0:48-2:53 8M14 Ben to Rey 2:53-3:05 10M1 Rey and Ren 3:05-end 8M14 Ben to Rey 17 Reunion 4:05 9M3 Bows 18 A New Home 1:47 9M5Alt Return to Tatooine 19 End Credits 10:52 0:00-0:32 8M15 Horn Solo 0:32-end 8M16 End Credits FYC 1 Prologue 1:46 0:00-0:08 4M2 Rey's Incredible Hand 0:08-0:36 1M10 Ready To Be A Jedi 0:36-0:56 1M15 Vader's Castle 0:56-1:28 6M13 Rey's Trip to P 1:28-1:38 1M22 The Ninth Beginning 1:38-end 4M3 Chewie's Interrogation 2 Falcon Flight 2:22 1M26 Lightspeed Skipping / Spy’s Message 3 We Go Together 2:11 2M6 The Medal 4 In The Desert 2:27 0:00-0:08 4M1 Rey Senses Ren's Approach 0:08-0:18 5M8A More Maz 0:18-1:57 4M1 Rey Senses Ren’s Approach 1:57-end 4M3 Chewie’s Interrogation 5 A Prisoner 1:24 0:00-0:28 1M8 Approaching the Nursery 0:28-end 4M12 Ship Walk and Talk 6 To Kijimi 1:38 0:00-0:27 4M5 To the End 0:27-0:48 4M5B Good Ship, Bad Ship 0:48-1:11 2M6 The Medal 1:11-1:24 2M4 The Emperor Lives 1:24-end 1M13 Tell Me What They Are 7 Fleeing From Kijimi 1:53 5M1 Meddling and Poe’s Crush 8 Hallway Shooting 2:11 5M3 Hallway Shooting 9 Hard To Get Rid Of 2:20 0:00-0:25 8M4 Psalm of the Sith 0:25-0:33 5M6 Hard To Get Rid Of 0:33-0:43 8M11 Dropping the Saber 0:43-0:50 8M14 Ben To Rey 0:50-1:29 5M6 Hard To Get Rid Of 1:29-1:39 2M4 The Emperor Lives 1:39-1:52 5M5 Rey Sees Mother 1:52-1:57 5M6 Hard To Get Rid Of 1:57-2:01 4M3 Chewie's Interrogation 2:01-end 5M6 Hard To Get Rid Of 10 Join Me 2:22 0:00-0:57 5M8 Geneology 0:57-1:18 1M8 Approaching the Nursery 1:18-1:46 8M4 Psalm of the Sith 1:46-2:00 7M12 Seven Twelve 2:00-end 5M8 Geneology 11 The Old Death Star 2:15 0:00-0:43 5M10 Landing at ? 0:43-1:20 4M30 It Fits! 1:20-1:27 3M4 Quicksand! 1:27-1:43 0M1 Children’s School 1:43-end 7M1 Seven One 12 Off The Waterfront 1:04 5M12 Off The Waterfront 13 Final Saber Duel 1:38 6M7 Stop and Start 14 Healing Wounds 2:50 0:00-1:40 6M8 Healing Wounds 1:40-end 5M30 Under A Blanket 15 Advice 1:54 7M8 Father Knows Best 16 Battle of the Resistance 1:54 0:00-1:19 7M12 Seven Twelve 1:19-1:39 7M12A Horses #2 1:39-end 7M12 Seven Twelve 17 Approaching the Throne 4:17 0:00-2:18 7M20 Approaching the Throne 2:18-4:04 7M30 More Action 4:04-end 8M4 Psalm of the Sith 18 Parents 1:57 0:00-1:48 7M21 Parents 1:48-end The Last Jedi: 1M9 Revisiting Snoke 19 Coming Together 1:45 7M32 Make The Sacrifice 20 Seeing Sights 3:17 0:00-1:41 7M38 I Am All The Sith 1:41-end 7M44 Name That Tune 21 Rescue 1:11 0:00-0:16 8M10 Success and Sliding 0:15-0:26 8M7 Big Ship Blows Up 0:26-end 8M10 Success and Sliding 22 Farewell 4:27 0:00-2:09 8M14 Ben To Rey 2:09-2:21 10M1 Rey and Ren 2:21-end 8M14 Ben To Rey 23 A New Home 1:43 9M5Alt Return To Tatooine
  13. @Falstaft's Star Wars thematic guide has a lengthy list: https://franklehman.com/starwars/ The ordering is confusing for a couple reasons: as the film was shortened in the edit, it was changed from 9 reels to 8 reels (that's why we have 9M3 Bows, which goes before 8M16 End Credits), and a number of scenes were moved around, especially in the first couple reels.
  14. It just occurred to me while listening to The Airport that this nervous opening string ostinato seems to be derived from the first four notes of Helena’s theme. @Falstaft @Ludwig Do you agree?
  15. A pair of spotlights were turned on overhead, beginning with the Raiders March, to stunning effect: A sea of lightsabers ignited for the Star Wars selections:
  16. Yes, with the same three encores: Yoda’s theme, Flying Theme from E.T., and the Imperial March.
  17. It’s similar, but not quite the same. For instance, the film version has a loud chime right on the title card.
  18. Pretty sure it’s Don throughout, except for perhaps a few passages that sound like they may be doubled with a second timpanist, likely Greg Goodall, who I believed played all the 2nd timpani on The Rise of Skywalker and The Lost World.
  19. Finally saw the film. A couple moments I wanted to call out: The very opening would make a great FYC track. Love the deep chime right on the title card! The film version of the Tuk Tuk sequence has a fantastic version of the Raiders B-theme, it’s only action-mode appearance in the score. The ending of the Tuk Tuk In Tangiers track actually shows up much later in the film, when they drive the wedding car chasing after Teddy, but doesn’t appear during the Tuk Tuk chase. Tracking or JW combining music from different scenes in one album track?
  20. Speaking of which, looks like that 3-note motif appears in 3M10 v1.1 Whip At A Gun Fight. Does anyone know if this cue was used in the film, or was it entirely replaced by music in Auction at Hotel L’Atlantique?
  21. Many directors have an unfortunate tendency to fall in love with their temp score, and may have asked JW to imitate it as closely as possible, or even had it tracked (we're not sure yet what was tracked vs. re-recorded note-for-note).
