  1. She can play a mean game of checkers, this Vulcan sheila
  2. My friend I saw it with insisted I was a dum-dum for not getting it.
  3. We've already got Ian Malcolm, but they think he's too trendy. They want Alan Grant.
  4. Playing a regular blu-ray on a 4K UHD machine needs a 4K TV to get the upscaling effect. When that's done, it looks surprisingly okay, depending on how the image was mastered.
  5. Why couldn't you all just be normal kids and listen to the Top 40 charts instead?
  6. I think we're prone to forgetting how old we are and expect these youngins to have been exposed to the actual good stuff like we were, when the truth is they've never had any interest in exploring what came before their time. Consequently their only frame of reference is whatever was released in the last five years because that's the limit of their exposure. It's as if all this has been designed to be that way too, by making everything as bland and vanilla as possible to invite the widest desired audience. Or else it'll be "too niche" or not commercial enough.
  7. Depends. I've only upgraded a few like BTTF, ID4, Godzilla '98, the Burton/Schumacher Batmans, Alien, Jaws and Die Hard. Most look fine, although ID4 has some colour-timing issues. Even BTTF looks like they've given it the yellow bias justtttttt slightly.
  8. I don't think it is. It has bluetooth, which is nifty if I want to play something from my telephone. My Rotel DAB+ tuner has a network player in it through DTS Play-Fi, which I find a bit clunky. From now on, I'll probably just use my computer as a network player and play all the internet audio stuff from there.
  9. Shin Godzilla might be Toho's most impressive visual achievement, but god I find that boardroom shit relentlessly slow.
  10. Yeah but that's just watching movies on the internet.
