mstrox reacted to Smeltington in Disney Emporium releases Indiana Jones: The Complete CD Collection (Expected ship date is March 27, 2024.) No new expansions - Includes the previous Concord Records programmes plus KotCS and DoD OSTs
Maybe everyone will hate me, but they could just go digital. Why the hell not!

mstrox got a reaction from Andy in BuySoundtrax Re-Releasing David Arnold's Godzilla On October 17th, 2012
Godzilla has arrived. The back cover lists 18 tracks on disc 2. The actual disc has all 20 tracks listed on the website.

TBF there are better examples to pick from Ant-Man. I'm sure MODOK looked EXACTLY as stupid as they wanted him to.

mstrox reacted to Yavar Moradi in Next James Bond actor after Daniel Craig?
There are a lot of terrible Bond movies that have fewer redeeming features than No Time to Die… and I’m quite confident I’d prefer to rewatch any of them before watching this AI trash.

mstrox got a reaction from Bellosh in Do you think Saving Private Ryan is a masterpiece?
Yes yes and yes. One of my favorite Williams scores and probably my favorite war movie.

mstrox reacted to Schilkeman in Temple of Doom is celebrating 40 years in 2024
Yes, God forbid we all learn to be more sensitive to societal representation . There's plenty of stuff I love about Temple of Doom, but there's also plenty about it that is very much from 1984, and should probably stay there.

mstrox got a reaction from Edmilson in Chris Columbus to Direct ‘Thursday Murder Club’
Honestly I think I’d prefer to hear Williams’ take on a murder mystery than another alien movie. But I think Columbus’ days of pulling someone of Williams’ caliber have passed by two decades or so.

mstrox got a reaction from Stark in Steven Spielberg will be making a UFO movie based on an original idea with a David Koepp script
He did War of the Worlds - hard to get more malevolent than that.

mstrox got a reaction from rough cut in Did you get the Dial of Destiny soundtrack on the CD format before it sold out?
Looks like it’s not searchable but the old link works!

mstrox reacted to Thor in General movie chitchat
Fortunately, it was called just EVIL DEAD over here. It got lots of press at the time, though, and was heavily censored. VHS pirate copies of the uncensored version were doing their rounds in the underground.
But I can talk about Norwegian renaming all day long. It was very common in the 80s and 90s, not so much anymore (mostly for kiddie films these days). One funny aspect is how we often prefaced many wacky comedies with the word "Hjelp" ("Help"). So you have:
NATIONAL LAMPOON'S VACATION -> HJELP, VI MÅ PÅ FERIE! -> HELP, WE MUST GO ON VACATION!
CHRISTMAS VACATION -> HJELP, DET ER JULEFERIE! -> HELP, IT'S CHRISTMAS VACATION!
SPINAL TAP -> HJELP, VI ER I POPBRANSJEN! -> HELP, WE'RE IN THE POP BUSINESS!
AIRPLANE -> HJELP, VI FLYR! -> HELP, WE'RE FLYING!
....and many more.
Loads of other things too, like DIE HARD being OPERASJON SKYSKRAPER (OPERATION SKYSCRAPER), DELIVERANCE being PIKNIK MED DØDEN (PICNIC WITH DEATH) and so on.

mstrox reacted to Yavar Moradi in The Ol' College Try
For what it's worth, I find myself drawn to play The Legend of Zorro far more than The Mask of Zorro.
My answer to this question might upset some people: Alan Silvestri's Back to the Future. Most of it is the definition of generic, to me. I don't like the main theme which repeats ad nauseam. I don't find it remotely interesting or engaging. It doesn't receive interesting development, for the most part. The score works well enough in the film (it certainly doesn't detract) but I think it could have been a lot better. BTTF3 is the only one of these scores that connects with me more, because it's a western and has new thematic material and variety.

You just need to listen to the concise presentation of the OST.

mstrox got a reaction from Yavar Moradi in The Official Varese Sarabande Thread
What horror scores does Varese have in perpetuity? That would be a good start. I also wouldn’t put it past them to start issuing individual “complete editions”/“deluxe editions” of the Scream movies based on what was released in the box a few years ago.
