    Dear Group,
This question might be off topic of this group, but anyway, hope someone can help.
My 9 years old son with Autism Spectrum Disorder is mesmerized by John Williams' work and he wrote a letter to the composer. I promised my son to send the letter. Now my son is asking every day if we heard back. I know how silly it sounds, but does anyone know an address, or PO Box, or e-mail where I can scan and e-mail my son's letter?
Thank you very much for all suggestions,
    Maya

I do. I can't listen to the score without it because I almost exclusively watch The Special Edition as that was the first version I saw at the cinema.

Dean1700 got a reaction from rough cut in Superman the Movie TV cut Blu-ray - contains previously unused JW music restored to picture - Update: 4K UHD disc release expected 2018 (theatrical?)
The missing scene is only a very small cut of about 3-5 seconds and occurs immediately following Lex yells "Otis, do you want to see a very very long arm?" Lex then climbs out of the drivers seat and jumps in the back while Miss Teschmacher screams and leans over to grab the wheel.

It then cuts to a view of the back of the Ambulance now swerving over the road and the doors swinging open, showing Otis leaning out the back of the vehicle and Lex over the top of him where Lex hits him in the eye. The scene is underscored by a short March of The Villains cue before cutting away.

I've still got the TV version I recorded in 1986 showing this scene somewhere and I'll try and load it if I can.

This image was taken with my phone with the scene paused and the video is of the whole scene.

The quality is very poor because when first recorded 32 years ago (OMFG) it was onto Betacord. Eventually this was transferred to VHS and finally to DVD with no enhancements so quality has been lost in every transfer BUT I'm still going to keep it as it's a time capsule with TV commercials lol.

After recreating all of the film edits, I also created a custom score presentation as well as albums for additional music & alternates, source music, and of course the film edits.  I did my score presentation similar to NL's in many ways, like splitting crossfaded cues, putting the film versions of particular cues in their respective order in the score instead of their OST counterparts (except "Take Her To Sea, Mr. Murdoch", "Unable To Stay, Unwilling To Leave", and "Death of Titanic"), and adjusting the audio in some of the cues.  Below is my custom score presentation and other albums I created for my iPhone.  Audio adjustments will be listed in parentheses.

    SCORE PRESENTATION

    1. Main Titles (restored Sissel's vocals, removed the "Logo" Uilleann pipe solo completely as it can be heard in "Never An Absolution" from the OST)
    2. 2 1/2 Miles Down
    3. To The Keldysh (removed crossfade)
    4. Rose Revealed (removed crossfade)
    5. Distant Memories
    6. My Drawing (removed crossfade)
    7. Relics & Treasures (removed crossfade)
    8. Southampton (film version - from LLL disc 3)
    9. Leaving Port (film version - from LLL disc 3)
    10. Take Her To Sea, Mr Murdoch (film version - added in the heavier thumping bass line from the film mix, recreated the ending heard in the film using the alternate version from LLL disc 3 and the OST version, no micro-edits, no tracking in the Southampton OST version)
    11. First Sighting (removed crossfade)
    12. Rose's Suicide Attempt (removed crossfade)
    13. Jack Save's Rose
    14. The Promenade (removed crossfade)
    15. Rose (film version - taken from the film mix)
    16. Butterfly Comb (removed crossfade)
    17. The Portrait (eventual film version - initially a piano demo)
    18. Lovejoy Chases Jack & Rose
    19. Lovemaking
    20. Hard To Starboard (added in the metallic whooshing sound for the iceberg like in the film, 3:19-3:49 removed the atmosphere synth using the alternate version from LLL disc 3 and adding in the ostinato synth, 4:11-4:20 is the passage without the clarinet and percussion taken from the film mix, also added in the amped-up low brass phrasing of the iceberg leitmotif w/ trilling trumpet from the film stem)
    21. Rose Frees Jack
    22. A Building Panic (removed the crossfade into the panpipe-dulcimer passage using the film mix and the beginning of "A Building Panic [Album Suite]")
    23. Unable To Stay, Unable To Leave (film version - removed Uilleann bagpipes using film mix)
    24. Trapped on 'D' Deck (removed crossfade into the anvil strike using the ending of "A Building Panic [Album Suite]")
    25. Murdoch's Suicide
    26. The Sinking
    27. Death of Titanic (film version - combined OST version with alternate from LLL disc 3 to remove synths in some parts as heard in the film)
    28. A Promise Kept (film version - combined the OST version with the alternate 2nd part from LLL disc 3)
    29. A Life So Changed
    30. A Woman's Heart Is A Deep Ocean Of Secrets
    31. An Ocean Of Memories
    32. My Heart Will Go On / Post (crossfaded the end of the song into "Post")

This is the version of the film I grew up with. I first copied this from the TV in 1986 (onto Betacord) then later to VHS and eventually to DVD. I still have that disc and even though I have the 13 disc set from years ago and the first movie on Blu-ray THIS version will always be my "go to" version.

My only gripe is that it's missing one scene and that's when Lex is showing Otis his "very long arm" whilst hanging out the back of the ambulance.

Just for completeness regarding the additional music for "Settling With Steven" it can be found on Vol 2, Track 16 "The Land Race (complete final version)" at 8:27-9:27 min marks. It can also be found in the other "Land Race" track on Vol 2 as well however the timings would be different due to it being a shorter track.

P.S. After adding the extra music from "The Land Race (complete final version)" with "Settling With Steven" I decided to include Track 29 (Joseph and Shannon) making it into a single track. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a clean edit between the Vol 2 insert and "Joseph and Shannon" so I settled with a slightly longer version of the Vol 2 insert (at about 1 min 13 secs, instead of 1 min) and trimmed "Joseph and Shannon" to match. It worked so much better that way.

It's likely the film will open with the Lucasfilm logo, then segue to the opening titles. If the teaser and Marvel Studios' output are any indication, the Disney logo won't appear on the film at all. The copyright will likely read "© 2015 Lucasfilm Ltd", followed by the byline 'Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures' at the end.
People won't complain about the lack of the Newman fanfare if they enjoy the movie overall.
