  1. Dead Ringer's got some straight up and underappreciated bangers (I'll Kill You If You Don't Come Back is a personal favorite) but I feel Bat 1 really flows as a complete experience from begging to end. My personal favorite is Security, and I agree that Melt is one of his best (if not THE best) but I figured if I was lost on an island with a PG album, Us would be a more rounded and healing experience. That's some damn good taste, and I like your choice but, similar to BOOH, I feel like the first album flows really nicely and it's got that spunk if you will of him really trying to show all he had. I'd argue that Excitable Boy flows perfectly from begging to end as an album, but nothing beats for me the ending with the air condition humming. It's always nice to find some Warren acolytes out there, he should be more recognized outside of Werewolves.
  2. Bat Out of Hell - Meat Loaf/Jim Steinman Warren Zevon - Warren Zevon (1976) Peter Gabriel - Us Les Luthiers - Volumen 3 John Williams - Jurassic Park: The Lost World (complete edition) I'd add some honorable mentions with Sinead O'Connor, Linda Ronsdant, John Powell and Sui Generis; but I tried to narrow it down to my mega favorites.
  3. The part I liked the most was the whole Syracuse bit. For starters, I laughed my ass off when Indy discovers Voller's calculations were off. Secondly, Indy travelling back in time feels right and fresh for the series. I do feel, as many have pointed out, that Indy should have taken the decision to return home on his own, instead of getting knocked out. Also, I feel the movie should have been 80% about Indy in past Syracuse trying to return home.
  4. Chris Sanders Returns To Dreamworks To Direct ‘The Wild Robot’ Wonder who will score it. Silvestri or Powell?
  5. I highly doubt JW will write another action score; but something more intimate, ala Book Thief or Fabelmans? That I'm sure of.
  6. Now it lists Randy Newman as composer. Intriguing choice, if true. Seems pretty unlikely, though.
  7. Haven't listened to the whole thing, I'm just wondering: did they keep the kazoos?
  8. Is it me or does the orchestra sound rather... small? I hear a lot of virtual instruments helping the orchestra out.
  9. Hmmmm I don't agree 100%, but you could be right. My bias with Star Wars is not a very positive one so my judgement could be tainted by my own perception. Very. Most of the time, at least in my eyes, the actors don't have any idea what the hell is going on and it shows.
  10. The original Star Wars is a very clumsy and awkard film. The score (and the editing) makes it work, somehow. I think with a different score (even with the original idea of the classical temp-track Lucas had in mind) it wouldn't have worked. With Empire Strikes Back, it's a different story. That could work with a different score.
  11. True, but the original Star Wars owes an enormous deal to the score.
  12. I wish he was doing more risky projects, like Scorsese is doing. I mean, it's not like Bullitt *screams* box-office hit, so why not try something different? Fablemans was a great step in that direction, but I feel like everytime Steven takes a risk, he goes back to something safer. At this point of his carreer, he should be doing more passion projects.
  13. The bit that comes right after is really cool too
  14. Really weird that at this stage of his carreer Powell is doing additional music writing.
