  1. At this point if they are serious they NEED to hand it over to a good screenwriter and let George just produce it. It has taken too long and the actors ain't getting any younger. The latest on Indy 5 http://www.aintitcool.com/node/58432
  2. I offered. He wants his own download. It's not like the sound quality is better or anything. I think he's just going to buy a CD. I rarely download music from itunes anymore but I guess lots of people would rather download than actually buy a CD.
  3. Yeah, I meant to say purchase. I've never downloaded anything illegally. I'm too paranoid. I wish Intrada or Lala land or FSM would release the CD and then maybe 6 months later offer downloads for the same price of the CD. Of course, I wish that worked backwards as well. I am hoping to see an actual CD release this Christmas of Alan Silverstri's Christmas Carol.
  4. Yeah, no actual date has been set. Late fall is what the press release said. The OP is assuming it will be Black Friday or before Black Friday.I thought maybe I missed something and they actually set the date as being November 23rd,2012.No date has been set,at least if it has it is not on Lalaland's website or press release. No price has been set either.
  5. I have both cds but was curious if it was available for download anywhere.I was playing my copy for a friend of mine who would rather download than buy the cd. Thanks.
  6. If this porject is truly dead, wouldn't it be wise for George Lucas to announce it officially? I mean, Indidana Jones is pretty big. The Blu Rays come out this fall so the timing would be great to address the issue. If he doesn;t we are going to get threads like this for the next ten years or so. Fans speculating if another Indy movie is around the corner. I never imagined George being this lazy. I mean, he is pretty imaginitive and creative. To not be able to think up a McGuffin by now (he's had what? 3 or 4 years?) He won't later. If a 5th film is done I hope Shia is either not in the film at all (off at school perhaps) or in very very little of it. Marion is given a bigger role than in the last film. Sala comes back.I thought Jim Broadbent was a good character and would like to see him in a bigger role. I also hope they would keep the story simple. Don't make it crowded with lots of supporting characters. Give us a great villain and since Indy is older make it more of a detective story. Still, I know if it is a Indiana Jones film there has to be action. I'm just saying give us a good story/mystery.
  7. I can't have a conversation with Anyone who thinks 'rebooting' this film is a good idea. Reboot STAR WARS then and CASABLANCA. Rebooting classic films is basically saying,'Hey,a new generation does not want to watch 'old movies' and frankly,we can do it better'. I agree. it sounds like they just aren't really into the idea of coming up with something new. I think Ford surprised everyone they saw not only did he still look good as Indiana but he proved he could still carry an old time action film at 65 years old. Clint Eastwood was about that age when he did The Dead Pool (his last Dirty Harry film) and Clint knew when it was time to hang it up and go out with style. Would have been great to see Ford as Indy in a 5th film and it would have been nice if they REALLY did it right, had a great story, and went out with a bang. I get the impression Spielberg and Lucas really are not interested at this point so they are giving up. I just wish they would officially say it so we don't have Indy 5 speculation when Ford is 75 or 80.
  8. If they can not figure out the McGuffin by now they really should give it up. I mean, there are so many possibilities out there. Atlantis. Spear of Destiny. El Dorado. The pyramids of Egypt. I was hoping in Indy 4 Indy would battle Nazis in South America in the 1950's. Hell, even entertain the conspiracy that Hitler escaped. SO MANY things they could consider. Ford is in great shape but he was in better shape 5 years ago when they shot Indy 4. I did not think they would wait this long to do an Indy 5. I thought they might even start hiring writers before Indy 4 came out and prep a fifth film in late 2008 or sometime in 2009. Indy 5 IMO should have been released in 2011 or 2012. I hate to see them go out with Indy 4. Would love to see them get it right and do a good film as their last hurrah. However, so much time has been wasted, I say just kill the project. If so I hope Lucas himself makes an announcement that Indy 5 is now officially dead and that KOTCS was the last one. Don't keep the fans guessing, make it official.
  9. Well, Lets not forget once George decided to use the crystal skull for the last one he hired a taleneted screenwriter like Frank Darabont. Frank worked on the script for a year or more. George liked parts of the script but decided to re-work the script of Darabont's. I heard the Darabont script would have made the film better than it was. So, once George eventually finds whatever it is Indy will go after, he then has to find a screenwriter, give them time to write it,George has to approve it,then Spielberg and Ford have to approve it,then they have to fit it in their schedule, and so on. So, even if George finda an idea today it will still be another 5 years before we see it. How old will Harrison Ford be by then? Someone like George Lucas should have learned by now NOT to take so long to make these sequels. 16 years between Return of the Jedi and Phantom Menace. 19 years from Last Crusade to Crystal Skull. He should have either shot Indy 4 and 5 back to back, have Indy 5 be a sequel to Indy 4 or have a script for Indy 5 soon after finishing Indy 4. I was not a big fan of Indy 4 but I am a lot more forgiving of that than I am the Star Wars prequels. If he got a good story and they made Indy 5 a decent film and went out on a high note, that would be great. However, if Indy 5 does not come out within the next 2-3 years I say don't do it. If George gets off his ass, comes up with an idea, gets a script written ASAP then Indy 5 could shoot in about 12-14 months from now. I'm sorry but watching Harrison Ford in his mid to late 70's trying to act like an action hero is gonna be sad. I get embarrassed watching Sly Stallone doing action films. Hopefully, Kathleen Kennedy will get the ball rolling on this one.
  10. Well, I had read on a message board someone wrote to George Lucas and got a reply that he was done with Indy 5. Dear Michael, Thank you for writing all the way from Australia! I am so excited to hear that you are such a fervent fan of the Indiana Jones movies. They are pretty epic. Although Mr Lucas will not be making more Indiana Jones movies, there will be other projects to look forward to. I'm sure you will be able to find other movies you will love just as well. Since you are such a big fan, I've included a t=shirt for you to keep, so please enjoy! Best wishes, Elizabeth/Public Relations http://raven.theraider.net/showthread.php?t=22216 Its anybody's guess at this point. George needs to find a 'McGuffin' for Indy 5 and that could take years.
  11. Whates not clear to me is, George says he is retiring and then goes on to say he wants to make smaller movies. Which is it? I heard Lucas was no longer involved in doing Indiana Jones 5 but then just a couple months ago Steven Spielberg says he is wating for George's Indy 5 script. So, who knows what exactly is going on. I have not seen RED TAILS but I have heard many good things about that film. I heard how much trouble Lucas had getting that film made and was surprised. If someone as powerful and wealthy as George Lucas can't a film made then something is wrong in Hollywood. George sounded almost bitter while discussing the difficulties he had with RED TAILS but hearing him talk about the actual movie reminded me of the 'old George Lucas' from the 80's. As a producer George made Labyrinth and Tucker, two films I really enjoyed and then Howard the Duck. A film that sucked but at the same time I admire him for taking the risk. So, I would love to see George doing very small films now with NO CGI and just rely on story.
  12. I guess I should have said soundtracks to Christmas movies. I have both HOME ALONE expanded scores and SCROOGED. I should also mention LOVE,ACTUALLY. I love the score to that film but am not sure how much music Craig Armstrong composed for the film. Thought there was a lot.
  13. I'm curious if they ever put out a deluxe soundtrack to Bing Crosby's and Danny Kaye's film, WHITE CHRISTMAS. I bought the dvd years ago and got a cd soundtrack with a few songs on it but that was it. I'm also curious if there are any other Christmas soundtracks out there (MIRACLE ON 34th Street *original version* , A Christmas Story, etc.) Of course, I am hoping we see a CD of Jim Carey's (Alan Silvestri) A CHRISTMAS CAROL this year.
  14. Well, I'm glad I read that list because I would have eventually started a thread regarding at least a few of those titles (SUPERMAN RETURNS, HARRY POTTER,CONTACT) That list was from last year. I wonder if any progress has been made since then?
