  1. Fellow JWFanners, with the upcoming release of expanded score to E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, I have decided to enrich my music collection with it and other La-La Land JW releases. However, I am relatively new to La-La Land Records JW-wise and so basically, I would like to get an advice on what's worth buying. Right now, the scores that I am considering buying (apart from the E.T.) are: Home Alone (25th anniversary), Home Alone 2, The Fury, Rosewood, Empire of the Sun, A.I. Artificial Intelligence and The John Williams Jurassic Park Collection (so basically every one that's available). However, it's lot of money, so I would like to be sure that I am getting their worth. Quality of the sound is very important to me, but I don't expect that's an issue. I also care very much about the presentation of the set a and the liner notes. And also a logical track order is a good thing. Another very important (other things considered, maybe the key) thing is how definitive the release is. I won't mind spending $150 as long as I won't be tempted to do the same again for the same score (at least not for many years). So I would like to know if all these sets are definitive and if some aren't, then why. I am also interested in anything else you can share about the release and also very helpful would be your "all-things-considered" opinion, whether the sets are worth the money (even if they are indeed complete). The music itself, paradoxically, isn't such a concern to me. I mean I have heard all of these scores, except Rosewood and The Fury, in their un-expanded form, and I am not worried that I would not like the music itself (it's JW, after all). And based on what I read, I think I am going to love The Fury. With Rosewood, it's a bit different. Ideally, I wouldn't buy it right now, because I know neither the score (except for Look Down, Lord) nor the movie and I actually don't have any "inspiration" to buy it right now (except for that it's by JW), however, since it's a limited edition, I would rather buy it now (if it's definitive) than then regret not doing so in the future. So to sum up: I really want to own these scores, but I don't exactly have money to buy every single album released, so I really want to make sure these releases are the definitive presentations of theses scores and they contain pretty much everything we can possibly ever get (excluding bootlegs), and since they are limited, I don't want to wait around until they are sold out. So should I buy them? I hope you can give me some helpful insights into my dilemma. I also have a second question, about the Home Alone scores. I read in the E.T. score thread, that a Home Alone box set should be released containing the expanded scores from the first and second movie. Is it true or was it a joke/guess? Thanks for your comments!

  17. Wow, I thought there was a thread for this but unless the search engine is broken, there isn't. So here it is! Anyways, I just wanted to mention that for the next 13 1/2 days, you can purchase the Lethal Weapon boxset direct from LLL for $95.98 instead of the usual $119.98, a savings of $24! This essentially makes each film's 2CD Complete score cost $24 each instead of $30 each. http://www.lalalandrecords.com/LethalWeapon.html Offer expires on April 21st 2014 at 11:59PM PST!
  18. There wasn't a thread for this release yet, so here we go. Anyways, I was looking for a thread for this, because I read these interesting comments on FSM: http://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=102269&forumID=1&archive=0 What do people here think about this?
