  6. Does anyone know if Fox is planning on connecting their X-Men movies with their Fantastic Four movies, and other upcoming films? As of a few days ago, they had these films planned: 2015 Aug 7 Fantastic Four 2016 Feb 12 Deadpool May 27 X-Men Apocalypse 2017 March 3 Wolverine 3 July 14 Fantastic Four 2 2018 July 13 X-Men 8 Unscheduled X-Force Gambit Well yesterday Fox announced some new plans, namely: Gambit is coming October 7, 2016, starring Channing Tatum (Gambit was previously played by Taylor Kitsch in X-Men Origins: Wolverine)Fantastic Four 2 was moved up a few months to June 2 2017It's interesting that in the "main" Marvel universe, Disney has been sure to keep all the characters played by the same actors through. Meanwhile at Fox, they've recast Gambit, Jubilee, and Kitty Pryde, among other smaller roles, and have messed with timelines and rebooting a bunch of things. It doesn't seem like Disney Marvel will be doing that any time soon, though their universe is a lot younger than Fox's which started in 2000, eight years before Iron Man kicked off Marvel's own verse!
  7. Seemed to make sense to me to have a thread for general MCU news, rather than putting it all in Future Films thread, especially since each entry doesn't get their own thread, etc, and it's a popular film series with lots of news coming out all the time. For starters, here's a video about the various easter eggs that have been in the films This video catalogs almost every Easter egg in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

  9. JOSH TRANK TO DIRECT STAND-ALONE STAR WARS FILM June 04, 2014 In addition to the episodes of a new Star Wars trilogy, Lucasfilm and Disney continue development of multiple stand-alone movies that will offer new stories beyond the core Saga. The newest director to come on board is Josh Trank. "We're thrilled to welcome Josh into the family," says Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. "He is such an incredible talent and has a great imagination and sense of innovation. That makes him perfectly suited to Star Wars, and for this new slate of movies that reach beyond the core characters and storylines of Episodes I through IX." Trank states, "The magic of the Star Wars Universe defined my entire childhood. The opportunity to expand on that experience for future generations is the most incredible dream of all time." Trank captured imaginations worldwide with his critically lauded directorial debut Chronicle, a fresh and engaging take on the superhero genre. Trank is currently at work on The Fantastic Four for 20th Century Fox. http://starwars.com/news/josh-trank-to-direct-stand-alone-star-wars-film.html
  10. Gareth Edwards, of recent Godzilla fame, to direct one of the Star Wars spinoff movies.
  11. http://www.mugglenet.com/app/news/show/7209 Looks like it. This is out of the blue. I can't help but feel that I'm being trolled somehow. No idea how it will work but... interesting.
  12. It's official now. Apparently it draws inspiration from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. Henry Cavill returns, as does David S. Goyer. Nolan is an executive producer. Karol
  13. Star Wars stand-alone films confirmed..
  14. According to Latino Review's El Mayimbe on Twitter, he has the inside scoop on who will direct the long-gestating DC movie that teams up Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Flash. It was in the works long before last year's The Avengers revitalized WB's interest in it. http://twitter.com/e...565592906727424 And before people start questioning Latino Review's scoops as legitimate or not... they've broken over a dozen news that panned out. Such as Christian Bale getting cast as Bruce Wayne/Batman in 2004, Brandon Routh as Superman in 2005, and Heath Ledger cast as the Joker on July 2006. (You'll have to Google the news items, the original links are dead.) So it'll be a director WB likes, which could be dozens.
  15. It looks like we are about to learn even more profound truths about our very existence. Karol
  16. Some news regarding the sequel: The first Tintin has been very successful around the world. Mr. Jackson is very caught up in The Hobbit for a while. Assuming that it’s a success in America, when do you envision a sequel being able to move forward? Is it being moved forward right now? Kennedy: Oh yeah it is being moved forward, in fact Steven and I were talking about it this morning. We’re working on a script right now, we’ll see a script probably February or March. If we can do some camera capture this summer, which I think we could do, then we would be on track to have the movie either Christmas 2014 or summer 2015, and so that’s what we’re looking at right now. http://collider.com/kathleen-kennedy-jurassic-park-4-tintin-sequel-jurassic-park-3d/130315/ It seems Jackson will do the motion-capture stuff between Hobbits... Let's hope Williams ends up scoring it.
  17. Apologies if we had one of these before, the search function is still not right, so you can merge if you wish. In any case... http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=29282'>ROBOPOCALYPSE!!! I hope someone makes it, cause that's a great title.

  19. I couldn't find a relevant thread with the search function (and believe me, I looked) so I'm posting this here: http://www.empireonline.com/news/feed.asp?NID=23521 If an upcoming projects thread already exists this will need moving, but if not then I guess we now have a place to discuss future movies which aren't necessarily anything to do with John Williams, Indiana Jones or Spielberg etc and all in one tidy thread.
