Michael Kamen was always one of my backburner favorite composers. Shout out to this beautiful moment from his score from the original X-Men:

 

The theme is pure and simple but has enough music underneath it to lift the whole thing up.

Believe it or not, but EVENT HORIZON is 20 years old TODAY!

It's one my dearest movies from the 90s, so I just wrote this tribute article for its anniversary:

Check out the original version in Mr. Holland's Opus but take listen to the whole piece which is gorgeous:

Nice that Kamen had a chance to expand that little thematic idea later.
