Personally, I'd even go so far as to say I vastly prefer certain dissonances over certain consonances. In fact, I prefer not to refer to most so-called 'dissonant' intervals as actually being dissonant - I think it's far too negative a term for anything not as disturbing as a lone minor second or, say, a tritone. And even then, it all depends on the context. Two major chords separated by a tritone following up each other can render quite an unusual, ethereal sound which I would hardly call dissonant.

In the end, I think it's up to the conceiver, performer or perceiver to decide for themselves whether anything they conceive, perform or perceive is consonant or dissonant. Or ethereal, disturbing, mysterious, tense or dramatic, for the matter. Con- and dissonant just seem like inadequate terms to me.
