My favorite track on the album.

That is one heck of an odd record. It's odder than The Fireman. It's odder than Percy Thrillington.

It's CHECK MY MACHINE/BOGEY MUSIC/TEMPORARY SECRETARY/COOK OF THE HOUSE odd.

That's brand new, it's a montage I made using the version of "La baraka" featured on the LP of Charles Aznavour "A Tapestry of Dreams" (1974).

We just discovered there is a mastering error on the LP (or just some pressings we don't know yet), a third isolated verse follow the song on the LP...

So I've integrated it, here's the result!

Warning, it can be an earworm...

I realized recently that my awakening to music happened around 1988-1989.... At the time I was 14-15 yo. Ah... those where the years of many awakenings ;-)

I made these two compilations on Spotify based on the Québec Top 5.  I guess we played the same successes that played all around the globe... :-)

1988

1989

There was another "awakening" for me in 1994... as I turned 20. Maybe I will cover it in another post!

The favorite subjects of Aznavour for a song is indeed... love... women. But also, the time, the time that passes and never come again... the physical love too, but also the facts of society... suicide, alcohol... There is absolutely no taboo subject for him.

In 1972, Charles Aznavour wrote a very particular song called "Comme ils disent".

When he presented the song to some of his homosexual friends, they all said: "But you will make an announce to the public before singing this song on stage, no?".

He answered: "No...".

So that's the little story of a song which made his little revolution in the seventies... 100 % Aznavour :)

I also include the English version of the song because I think it is a very good adaptation.

Roy Orbison - A Black & White Night Live - 30th Anniversary Edition

A completely re-imagined version (the frenetic "MTV"-style montage has been redone completely from the raw footage).

Ordered!

So it seem Sheeran's I See Fire still remains the best, most credible pop song of this trilogy.

Say,  Richard & Thor, did you ever see this? Parsons looks so young (and thin). I'll be honest, I never came across this music video before.

Damn, times were so much different then ...

Yeah, I've seen it. Music videos were not APP's forte.
