Should be right up your street. But I doubt you will actually give it a chance.

Well I liked Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, so Twin Peaks might be my thing.

And who is James? And who's this blonde he liked?

Just finished Season 4 of Vikings.

Pretty uneven season, though it redeemed itself a bit towards the end. The final two episodes had some of the best medieval battle scenes I've seen on TV....the guys at GOT should give whoever directed those episodes a call. It's VERY hard to direct battles like this in a way that it's easy for the viewer to follow the strategy of what's going on so that it makes sense. Very well done.

Otherwise, I was seriously considering giving up on the show about mid point, but the end peaked my interest enough that I'll check out Season 5 whenever it comes around.

Next up: The Last Kingdom, season 2.

Hardhome not good enough for you?

They need to be or it'll be shit like the last joke of a season.

I've softened up on the last season after a recent rewatch. Its not without merit, and it has its moments. But yes, the show works best when the whole ensemble is together.

I'm glad we're getting a fifth season.

Hardhome was excellent.

Game of Thrones has lots of directors, Quintus. It's not a zero sum game.

Interesting. Can you tell me more about how Game of Thrones is made?

Sure I can.

I won't. But I can.

Would be cool if they brought Trevor Jones out of retirement.

Fargo S3E05 - The House of Special Purpose

This season hasn't really convinced me yet. But it boasts a really great cast. Michael Stuhlbarg was especially brilliant in this.

I wonder how closely will they stick to the actual books. Which actually tell a more linear long-form story. @Incanus is familiar with those, as far as I remember.

One of the latest entries in the Revisionist Western genre is The Revenant but somehow I didn't really like it.

Sergio Leone is Spaghetti Western.

I've never seen those ones. Thanks for the tips, Richard.

I'm glad you caught my little joke. ;)

Hee, hee.

TAOJJBTCRF was my favourite film of that year.

If TWBB is revisionist, what about OKLAHOMA CRUDE, THE WILD BUNCH, ULZANA'S RAID, McKENNA'S GOLD, SHALAKO, HOMBRE, and BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID?

There's a neat little revisionist western that you should see. It came out in 1976. I've heard it has a good score, by some newbie.

The film is called THE MISSOURI BREAKS.

When caring for a newborn infant, I like to binge watch a TV show that doesn't require much thought but also doesn't insult your intelligence, so I've been watching Father Brown on Netflix lately.  It was pretty much exactly what the doctor ordered for season 1, like a cup of hot chocolate or something.  But I've found there to be such a steep drop off in quality in season 2 that I'm not sure I'm going to stick with it.

I don't remember if I mentioned here Over the Garden Wall or not. Either way it's top notch.

I had not heard of this but wow it looks cool.  What a cool voice cast.
