Incanus 5,713
Well I upgraded my Shawshank Redemption. Always thought it was one of Newman's best. It was an irresistable bottlecap for me! And I see the shipping costs climb ever higher for those of us living outside US. 16$ for this set alone. Ouch!

Incanus 5,713
I am happy to note there is almost 30 minutes of unreleased music in the actual film score itself in addition to the alternate material, so the expansion is quite substantial. There is a small previously unreleased thematic idea used for two scenes I am particularly interested in hearing, a religioso-styled piece which seems like Newman's little nod to one of the melodies from Prokofiev's Lieutenant Kije. Bilbo 3,709
Ah ok. I'm not overly familiar with the process. Some seem to take awhile to come to fruition and others come out of the blue. Disco Stu 15,495
Shawshank is a score I've long loved in the film but have never actually owned the OST so this was a no-brainer purchase for me. Can't wait to get it! Jay

Jay 37,323
How is this considered a follow-up to AI? Because you personally didn't like any of the 30-40 titles they've released in between those two releases? bollemanneke
Dixon Hill 4,233
Because it's the first one since then that I'm nearly as excited about. It's just the phrase that came to mind. So yes. Follow up in my own collection, I guess. It's also a little under a year later right, so I guess it seems too like a "big summer release" follow up. Jay 37,323
LLL has posted that they have 4-6 titles coming for Comic Con in late July, so those would be their big titles of this summer. Shawshank Redemption was completed and expected to come out in 2014 for the 20th anniversary, and it was the approval process of the studio that delayed its release until now. I dunno how these label guys get through these long approval delays without going mad! bollemanneke
