So... WIll we know something today and will it go up for sale tomorrow, or will we find out and be able to buy tomorrow? The suspense is killing me.

La-La Land Records, Twentieth Century Fox, Fox Music and Universal Music Special Markets present the expanded and remastered re-issue of the original motion picture score to the 1992 feature film ALIEN 3, starring Sigourney Weaver, Charles S. Dutton and Charles Dance, and directed by David Fincher. Renowned composer Elliot Goldenthal (BATMAN FOREVER, PET SEMETARY, HEAT) composes an astounding musical tapestry of suspenseful atmospherics and pulse-pounding action – featuring some of the most effective cues ever composed for the legendary ALIEN franchise. Goldenthal’s artistic triumphs here would propel him into a series of acclaimed scores to important genre films that continues today. Expanded by more than 40 minutes beyond the original 1992 album assembly (which appears here remastered on Disc 2), the presentation showcases the film score in all its haunting glory, along with bonus alternates. Produced by Nick Redman and Michael Matessino, associate produced by Neil S. Bulk, and remastered and mixed by Matessino from original digital masters, this special 2-CD set is limited to 3500 units and features exclusive in-depth liner notes by writer Jeff Bond and sharp art direction by Mark Banning.

Our initial idea for April was an all out "Alien Invasion Month" with

Day the Earth Stood Still
ET LP (for Record Store Day)
Ancient Aliens
Alien 3

and one other title that had a significant date in April, but didn't make it across the finish line in time. That title is coming out May 8

ET was not gonna be done in time so we bailed on that idea.

We will have a flyer coming out on MAY 1, but trying to see if one of the titles is gonna make the cut or not for May 22.

Thanks again for playing along!

So what movie (or tv show or game) relating to aliens has a significant date in April?

I took it as something seperate from the Alien theme.

Nah, he clearly says April was to be an "Alien Invasion Month" including all the titles he listed plus the mystery one non yet revealed.

So it relates to aliens in general, not the Alien/Aliens franchise

From Wiki: Alex North's unused music had its first public appearance in Telarc's issue of the main theme on Hollywood's Greatest Hits, Vol. 2, a compilation album by Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. All the music North originally wrote was recorded commercially by North's friend and colleague Jerry Goldsmith with the National Philharmonic Orchestraand was released on Varèse Sarabande CDs shortly after Telarc's first theme release but before North's death. Eventually, a mono mix-down of North's original recordings, which had survived in the interim, would be released as a limited-edition CD by Intrada Records.[84]

So I'd say Intrada would be more likely for 2001

...oh, damn it. I was hoping it wasn't a joke as I actually like Alien 3.

The score, I mean.

Not the movie.

Fuck that movie.

It's as good as the second and the fourth movie!

The fourth movie is as good as Giacchino's score to Rogue One!

(Which means I think it's ai'ight :P. Brad Dourif, Winona Ryder and a decent John Frizzell score all add up to a fun enough time)
